  1. Goodness I wouldn't want to be asked what leaves I want in my salad - life's already too complicated to have to make decisions like that
  2. Pinky B .We went for the the virgin 3 in 1 package- think it's around ?25 a month. No complaints so far. Not sure if the bearded one is still in charge or not!
  3. A bit of advice for anyone moving away from Orange. Apparently the crappy livebox doesn't belong to you- even if it's 2 1/2 years old and knackered. I cancelled my account a couple of months ago when I moved house and got a cable package. As part of my declutter I binned the livebox. Only yesterday received a threatening letter containing a big plastic bag telling me that if I didn't send my livebox back then they'd have to charge me ?100 (quite a lot when the package was only ?5 a month). I take it this can only be a money making scam as they clearly can't be expecting to reuse the box- particularly given that they want you to send it back in a bin bag.
  4. I think it's a bit sad that there haven't been any new ones in the 10 years or so since I left the school (not that I know of anyway). They obviously weren't grooming us for fame!
  5. Jo Brand, Virginia Wade, and the twins from the darling buds of may
  6. And there was me cursing the traffic at Elephant. . . . . kind of puts everything into perspective. Mr JB will be wearing extra high viz gear tomorrow.
  7. Post grad medical exams hopefully will be my final set ever - unless they change it all again!
  8. It's bound to be gorgeous as I've got exams in Sept and will be stuck indoors revising
  9. Come dine with me. Especially the sunday night omnibus
  10. Our student bar was so corrupt that you rarely had to pay for a drink and if you did you even got more money back in change than you gave over. Not surprising that the whole thing went under and external people had to be brought in to run it (rather than some pissed up member of the rugby team). Happy days!
  11. There's a road on the edge of Caterham called White Knobs way - always makes me smile!
  12. Moos- am afraid I can back up my opinion on sausage rolls with the results of a large study published in a very eminent medical journal " People who consume more than 3 pork based products a week (sausage roll, bacon sandwich, pork pie or pork scratchings) are 50% more likely to die before the age of 55 than those who do not indulge. HR 0.5 (95% CI 0.35-0.6)" Baby Jolly et al Lancet 2008. It may be too late for you though ...
  13. Multiple factors contribute to life expectancy but on the whole it is pretty solid reflection of the socio-economic status of the population. People in lower socio-economic groups tend to die earlier - whether it is due to smoking, alcohol, diet (including sausage roll intake), obesity, access to/ use of healthcare or a combination of the above so you would expect Dulwich to have a higher life expectancy than some of the surrounding areas.
  14. I can't work out what sex most people are let alone trying to imagine what they look like! And where to start with the peckhams - luv, gatecrasher, pan - must admit I get you all a bit muddled up!
  15. I think mine was something v. boring about wanting a cleaner - nothing changes!!

  17. How frustrating -on annual leave this week - so no extra days off for me. Out in the country at the folks' house and can't believe that the aerial man has not been put off by the snow. He's up the ladder on the roof as I type. Not like us city wusses ....
  18. Feeling a bit half empty tonight - don't know why I've got next week off, a full set of teeth, a job, no bailifs after me . . I think a glass of wine is in order.
  19. For me when it comes to hotdogs the cheaper the better - I can't get enough of the tinned ones. Pop them in the mike (out of tin of course), 2 slices of white bread and squirt of ketchup . . . . . umm may have to get of the sofa now

    bed time

I'm an early nighter too - sometimes 9pm if telly crap or Mr JB annoying me! Have even been known to fall asleep in pubs/clubs/restaurants much to amusement of friends. now if I could only sleep on planes . . .. . .
  22. AAhh the delights of internet dating. Don't let these tales put you off - I met Mr JB online and we're still going strong three years later . . . . aaah. I did have a couple of funny experiences on the way through. The worst was with a chap who cancelled the date the first time (his dole check hadn't arrived). For some reason I agreed to see him again and on the morning of the date he emailed me several additional photos so I would recognise him. Number 1 had him mending his car with plastic gloves and a spanner in his mouth, in number 2 he was wearing a leopard print dress and number 3 looked like a mugshot! I still agreed to meet him and spent the whole night watching sweat trickle down his forehead! After a couple of drinks I made my excuses and got home to a text saying ' damn I meant to go for a proper kiss' yeuch. About six months later I got another text from him saying that 'he had found love and he hoped I was happy'
  23. My garden waste collection isn't til the 15th. Anyone know where I can dispose of my tree before then?
  24. Someone just stopped me in the street on ED road and said 'i'm not gonna grab your bag or anything but I've just lost my wallet' always a great opener to asking for some cash. Needless to say I didn't cough up
  25. I popped into the Peckham branch today and made a very swift exit. There were police in there looking after the crowds! the bargains weren't that great either 10p off a ?1 selection box - people were going crazy though and willing to queue for hours.
