  1. It's completely pathetic in 2009 though, isn't it?
  2. Yes, that's what I've noticed has gone missing or taken weeks to arrive, internet purchases. I'm concerned some people in these sorting offices might be pilfering parcels as well. What a shambles. How come Royal Mail is allowed to maintain its monopoly when it's not fit for purpose?
  3. Same where I live in Tulse Hill, in the last three or four months at least a third of my expected post has just not arrived
  4. Does anyone know how many people go to the Hoopers Bar quiz these days? We tried to do it last year and literally nobody was in the pub. We thought we would try it out this evening as it's a decent pub. Does it get a good turnout these days?
  5. No ulterior motives for not following up my initial postings, I just haven't been online since then. I've been too busy playing with my new analog synthesisers and attending real ale festivals, it's a hard life. I've just been disappointed on my last two visits to the pub about the poor attitude on display from some of the staff. All the other pubs I go to in the ED area are fine, and as I said previously the Bishop has got a lot of good things going for it - the excellent range of drinks, nice interior etc - it's just a shame that some of the staff there seem pretty up themselves. In response to the bloke's request for me to identify the barman who was the grouchy toilet denier, he looked about mid 20s and was bald.
  6. Nope, they weren't being cleaned, on my way there the baldy barman said in an abrupt manner "Where do you think you're going?", I said I was going to the toilet, he followed this up with "Don't spend too long in there", what a charmer The rest of our group got similar grief later on, I think the boss needs to organise some customer service workshops for his staff. It's a shame as the ale is pretty good in there and they have a decent range of drinks.
  7. Last night four of us had a last orders pint at the Bishop pub in Lordship Lane. When we were finishing our drinks the 'Barsteward' drying glasses sought to deny any of us use of the bogs. Is this legal after taking our money? Surely was he was taking the piss? The time before I went there a different barman overcharged me by ?105 on my card, luckily I got it back in the end, no thanks to the mardy bar manageress on duty that night. Not going back there in a hurry...
