Hi Am away and my three girls attend the girls school on Dartmouth Road and have been sent a clip that looks like the school is on fire. Does anyone know more?

Thanks for replies - had gone to work so not seen them. I didn?t really deal with it as was getting showered as heading to work so need to find out more from my husband. It?s a wooden one with sliding doors at the front. Sounds like they hit a few places so lock them up tighter I guess. Upsetting but no one hurt- I work in NHS so work has given me some perspective!

Thank you to the lovely lady today around 1.30/2 pm that my daughter fainted on in the food area of the festival. She is only 12 ( We know she is tall at 5?8? so she was worried you would think she was drunk!) She was dehydrated and fainted but recovered quickly thanks to you calling the first aiders. It?s unlikely you?ll see this but in case you do a big thank you. Your help was really appreciatec

Excel Childcare - Forest Hill Rd - experiences please?
JDR replied to Suse365's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I have very old experience and whilst positive in the baby room, management ( owners are social workers) are reluctant to change or action items ( things may have changed but over a three year period I used them they promised lots for vastly underdelivered - in our time there they were failing ofsted so things may have changed.) great in the sort term but I would have a plan b. -
I?ve seen two near misses of people not familiar driving over it. One didn?t seem to notice the other stopped and seemed mortified but it is an accident waiting to happen. Will the council pay compensation if Poor signage deemed contributory? It could prove expensive if not done soon!

Cycling down Upland Road ( behind Harris Boys before Barry Road). Approx 15 Boys together, one holding another against a wall at approx 3.10 Friday 2/2/18. I intervened, several people walked past, cycled past. I told boys off and got some very mild hassle from them ( when my back was turned and I was cycl8ng away) but have to say REALLY disappointed by fellow east dulwichers not supporting or intervening. At least 5 people came past and they all carried on. I am a 40 y.o. Woman. I was on my own. If I can brave out 15 Boys surely moral support isn?t beyond passersby?

We are about to do work and decided to close off the current corridor into the kitchen and enter only via the door that goes out of our current dining area. It means we will have only one entry into the kitchen, can put washing machine and tumble dryer in the now closed corridor and then our kitchen area will be on the near end of new extension meaning dining area can look directly into the garden. I know others don?t like this idea but our current dining area is poorly used so storage/ desk/ piano area and part corridor is a better use for us

Ballet classes for a 3 year old Saturday or Sunday
JDR replied to childcareee2017's topic in The Family Room Discussion
We also recommend South London School of ballet. They did have a waiting list for your daughters age group but have just started extra classes at Newlands Academy on Saturday mornings so there should be availability Megan is fab and the new teacher Anna also seems lovely https://thesouthlondonschoolofballet.com -
I can't comment on Italy. In Spain we did airbnb in Denia. Just north of Benidorm, a more calm resort/old town with loads of eateries. We were there for a family wedding so didn't really have chance to explore France we have been to Les Sable d'Olonne which is where the vendee races start from. Middle class French resort. Atlantic coast. Old town, lovely port area, gorgeous beach, we walked from the town to the zoo and drove to places further away. We have been twice and hired a house directly from the owners through a website. Hope you find somewhere

Man in balaclava on Crystal Palace Road
JDR replied to GtotheD4's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I have also seen someone with this description on Lordship lNe near Mount Adon. I felt uncomfortable enough I called my husband and spent quite a few minutes checking over my shoulder. Balaclavad man on street with no obvious bike/cause for balaclava. All very odd, quite correctly people want to warn others. I'd rather warn people and it be unnecessary than not and something bad happens and they didn't know to have increased awareness -
Weird looking, roof line wrong, windows old fashioned. New ones in old police house much better modern houses

I'm a community based physio dealing with patients who have just come home from hospital after major surgery not in this area. My patients have GP's from many practices and generally the past 5 years have led to a much lower level of satisfaction and longer waits/more difficult to get past receptionists. It can be specific to surgerys but it is a general trend unfortunately. If you have a good practice then appreciate it and to those that don't give feedback but be kind to the stretched clinicians. It's generally not their doing and most GP's are salaried rather than partners and therefore their pay is low for the level of qualification
