Just wanted to alert residents of a very dodgy "bin man" was spotted this morning. Had a rucksack on his back & a bike,oh & a can of lager! but dressed in bin man clothing. He was going through peoples front gardens & bringing out the odd bin if someone saw him. This was at around 9am this morning the real bin men came at noon. (I've removed a photo that identifies this man, who is innocent until proven guilty - Admin)

Does anyone know if Gristwood & Toms are in charge of the surveying our trees as well as the felling ? If so, isn't that a little like a doctor having shares in the local pharmacy..?

Well I wrote to Hariet Harmen & all our councillors on Friday I just received this email today: Thank you for your email below. On looking into this I?ve been told that all tree removals in Peckham Rye Park have now been suspended and a public meeting is due to be held later this week where residents will be able to put their views across. Further details about the meeting are available from the tree department at the council on 020 7525 0511. I hope this information is helpful to you. Mine & my daughter's favourite Cherry Blossom tree in Peckham Rye park is due to be felled this coming Tuesday 2/7/13 Surely this can't be right? The tree was in full bloom this spring looking as beautiful as ever! What can be done to stop this from happening? Anyone?
