I've been going to the same masseuse in Dulwich for about 4 years, and thought it was about time I left a review somewhere, because she's not on Treatwell or other apps (she used to be, and had hundreds of 5* ratings!). I've not found a masseuse as good elsewhere in London, or anywhere! Her name is Winnie, the business is called SkinBlossom Organic Massage - she's on Glengarry Road. I go once every couple of months- I get really stressed, and the only thing that seems to cure it sometimes is a massage. This person is amazing, she honestly has healing hands - I would recommend her to anyone. 020 8299 0635 is the number - enjoy!

Bulky waste collection issues
LordshipLaneResident replied to LordshipLaneResident's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
An update! My issue was finally sorted, yesterday afternoon. Huge relief. It was three weeks late and that level of stress, and giving up time to attend meetings, send emails and sit on hold, is not something anyone booking a service should be expected to do to get action. But James McAsh sent a chaser email to the relevant person and it is now, finally, sorted. Good luck with your review trinidad and DulwichLass and thank you for sharing your experiences on the thread, I really hope someone looking at these will realise there is a much bigger problem that needs looking at if we want to sort the waste issues. -
Bulky waste collection issues
LordshipLaneResident replied to LordshipLaneResident's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Hi Trinidad - I have tried several times to leave another complaint. They don't answer the phones - just a holding message saying it's too busy then the phone line goes dead. OliviaandMilo - yes, this seems to be the norm unfortunately, my inbox has a lot of similar messages! Dulwichlass - absolutely nothing happened at the community meeting regarding waste, of any substance. I cancelled my plans to go to it, told them what had happened with my (lack of) collection, which they already knew about because I'd emailed them. They made all the right noises - sorry it's happened, they'll action it etc etc. Still sitting outside, and no-one will answer my emails asking what's happening with it. Luckily the elections are coming up, I really can't see what power any of these people have but the system is a complete mess. -
Hi I came along to this meeting and didn't find it productive at all. I came with a specific complaint about a council service that I paid for that didn't work, and still don't have a response as to when this will be sorted. I've now made a complaint, attended a meeting in my spare time, and spent a lot of time on hold to various departments trying to get answers to things. The service I booked is now 3 weeks late and causing a lot of stress among my neighbours. Four days have passed since the meeting and now and nothing has changed.

In need of a Gas Enginner or Plumber ? Paul Harrison
LordshipLaneResident replied to Maisiemay's topic in Reviews
Hello Just a recommendation for Paul Harrison! I contacted him late last night about fitting my oven following a kitchen re-fit and he came over at lunchtime today and sorted it. He also spotted an issue with my boiler which he then fixed, so I'll be getting him in again! Thanks again Paul. Sarah -
Has anyone had any issues with bulky waste collection, or know how to rectify? This is a paid service from the council. I organised a collection for 5th January. No-one turned up, and there was no communication from them. I left it 24 hours then reported a missed collection (as per instructions on the site). Then waited 3 working days for a response (as per instructions) but nothing came back. I tried calling the environment team at the council but they said this was only an online service(!) so they couldn't speak to me about it. I raised a complaint and they said there was a vehicle blocking access (though this has never been an issue in 6 years of living here) and they'd collect. But still nothing - and no clue as to when they might collect it. Has anyone had similar issues/know what to do next? The neighbours aren't best pleased with me.

Hi all Does anyone know what is going on on LL - around number 250? My whole house is shaking? assuming it must be serious for them to start that kind of work so late? It started around 8pm I think.
-
I?ve a similar issue. In fact I am convinced from your description it?s the same dog 😂 what I would say is when I approached my neighbours about this their entire argument seemed to be that no one else had confronted them about it - so I would say anyone struggling with this kind of noise nuisance should go to the dog owners to explain the impact it?s having. I?ve looked into selling, and moving all my rooms around in the house so I sleep by the much quieter main road(!) - crazy really, when all they need to do is train their dog. I am a a dog owner btw, and I?d never allow my dog to disturb my neighbours like that. It?s the minority...

I've just checked my messages and got the house, the party is back at the noisy house so if it's still there at 10pm I'll have to make a complaint to allow the noise team two hours to sort it before they clock off. Ludicrous complaining at 10pm, but not much choice as I'm not staying up until 4am listening to that crap again.

I?m going to find out the rough number of the house today. This isn?t the first time but I?d rather it was the last so suggest we all call the noise team, let them know, and hope they get the message and reinstate the full normal service. Same here re plans. It?s my birthday weekend too. It?s not fair and we pay for a service that isn?t running, inexplicably, the time we need it most. Sorry to hear about your plans.

Goose Green councillors - how can we help?
LordshipLaneResident replied to jamesmcash's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Sorry to bleat on about this but the noise team has returned but only during the hours of 7am and midnight. Most *really* bad disturbances happen during midnight and 7am, when people are trying to sleep. Such was the case last night, when a house on Landcroft road had a massive garden party from midnight to 4am. Please don?t underestimate the negative impact the increased noise is having on people?s mental and physical health. Personally I was trying to recover from food poisoning (on my birthday) and my heart sank when I woke up at midnight after several nights of no sleep. It?s hugely selfish behaviour when most of us are stuck at home - and this service is more useful now than ever. Please reinstate it - properly. -
That?s the one- it?s actually Landcroft Road. I?m top of Lordship Lane, have food poisoning and trying to sleep it off. Between that and the dogs I haven?t slept in ages. It?s appalling what people think is generally acceptable to their neighbours - and this one started after midnight so there was no way of getting the noise team involved. Why would the noise team only be working during the hours of 7-midnight, when pretty much any noise is acceptable? The dog on the same street or nearby started half an hour ago so another weekend lost to sleep deprivation. 😔
-
So, they?re back but only staffed until midnight. So the massive party with decks and a PA is back at the top of Lordship Lane and as it?s woken me up at 1:30am (last time went on until 4am) the noise team can?t come out because they?re all at home - presumably sleeping. Chocolate and teapots spring to mind.

Goose Green councillors - how can we help?
LordshipLaneResident replied to jamesmcash's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
When are the noise team returning? The situation with noise has become unbearable in ED. We are trying to work from home with kids literally screaming in gardens and people playing all day. Then it?s finally time for the weekend and the same, but so much worse - I feel like I haven?t slept properly in weeks. I?ve just asked the charming new neighbours (Landcroft Road) if they can turn the music down (Ed Sheeran on repeat, been this way for 3 hours and I can hear it in the front of the house - I can?t use the rest or the garden as it?s too loud - and got laughed at before they turned it up). Whenever I call the noise team they say no-one can come up but they?ll ring me within three days. What on earth is the point in that? -
Large party or rally in ED?
LordshipLaneResident replied to sand12's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
It was a huge party, I live nearby and it kept me up. Same issue as you, the council wouldn?t come out and passed on to 101 who said it was the council?s issue. This situation seems to be bringing out the worst in some people... -
I know I?m not the only one who had to put up with someone else?s party on the corner of Crystal Palace/Landcroft Rd last night/this morning. Awful music, a drum machine and a PA system until the early hours isn?t a little gathering. Like many, I called the council noise team who said that due to coronavirus they couldn?t do anything. They said I could contact 101. After 30 mins on hold to 101 I was told many people had made the same complaint but that it?s not for the police to do anything it?s the council. So, before we have to be subjected to more of this - and no sleep - is it not time for the noise team to come back? Passing the matter to 101 when they must surely know they?d be unable to do anything seems like a huge waste of time and resource.

Barking Dog Landcroft Road
LordshipLaneResident replied to LordshipLaneResident's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Thank you - that's my next action plan, the forum was first but I think I need to resort to more notes... :) -
There's a dog that barks every morning between 7-8am in the middle/top end of landcroft road - it seems to be put in the garden for a 20 minute barking spell before going back inside - just enough to wake me and my neighbours up. Sadly, it started before Christmas but has persisted and has now worsened in the last couple of weeks. I did drop a polite note round to the property I thought was responsible but have had no luck. It's having a big impact on my work - the noise department at the council can't help because of the coronavirus, and I'm not sure what to do about it. These are really stressful times - if you have a barking dog, can you please try to keep it under control? I am a dog owner myself so understand it sometimes happens - but for it to happen on a daily basis is just quite selfish, I think it's probably safe to assume that if you can hear your dog barking, your neighbours can too - and it's not a nice thing to wake up to. I'm over on Lordship Lane so can only imagine the actual neighbours have to put up with this too, or have somehow got used to it. I really don't want to have to - please stop it. Thanks
