  1. South London gallery resteraunt No76 does weddings and receptions. Fantastic food and funky venue? Also good if you choose to get married at registry office and just have reception there.
  2. Shameless ( but relevant ) plug for a series I've spent the last couple of years working on - a social history of London told through the streets and houses we live in - this week's street is the stunning Camberwell Grove - tune in on Wednesday at 9pm on BBC 2!

  6. It's a bit too wet for a picnic don't ya think? We'd better postpone 'til May I think. Fingers crossed for a good summer!
  7. I have a large bush baby one with a frame and a good storage - its comfortable for long walks - but a little long in the body for me - my sister just gave me a little life ultralite - it's more like a day rucksack but has good storage a d is really comfortable and so neat.
  8. I got married three years ago and didnt invite kids - if I had we would have had around 30 kids which would have taken up a third of the guest spaces! I love kids but friends with them appreciated that numbers were limited and weddings are expensive. They took the opportunity to have a wild night in a romantic hotel by the sea. I specifically rang all my guests with babies to say of course their babas were very welcome. Breastfeeding babies are an extension of their mums. I wouldn't of dreamed of suggesting they fed their babies in a different room. Frankly I would have rather the 'offended' guests left the room ( and didn't come back) I now have two little ones of my own and invited or not I don't think I'd take them to another wedding - posh do's are a lovely chance to catch up with both your partner and old friends - if you're lucky enough to have willing relatives or friends to take charge - make the most of a great day I'd say!
  9. Ruth 77 - sounds like we had a baby on the same day! Mine is 4 weeks today ( Monday) would be lovely to meet you at April's wooden circle x
  10. Lindsey I have a 6 month old little girl is she too young? > X Hi not at all - never to young to lie around on a picnic rug while your mum chats and eats cake!
  11. I feel your pain ( literally ) gave birth to a big boy three weeks ago and tailbone aching and throbbing especially after long feeds sitting down - it seems to cease up. I have been to see a good osteopath at London bridge ( robin Kirk) and he said its common and clicked it all back and eased considerably. Hes very good - ill send you number if you like. Need to go back after a week of carrying, feeding, general heaving of toddler and double buggy. You have my sympathy!
  12. Lindsey How old do the children have to be? X Hi there babies or toddlers x
  13. Hi taper - that would be great - will knock one together and try and get it up next week or one after. K

  16. Hi I have a Moby wrap which I love - its so comfy - like wearing a jumper - baby loves it too. I have tried a few baba sling , bjorn , ergo etc and it's the most comfortable by far. Welcome to try mine and I'll show you how to put it on! I can't put little one down either!
  17. Im going to a big glam birthday do at the end of March and will be taking 4 week old baba with me. I imagibe i will be wearing him most of the evening and would like to use a glam sling such as the silk Sakura bloom range - cant justify the expense but wondered if anyone out there had one or similar 'special occasion' glam sling I could hire for the evening? Happy to leave a deposit. Thanks!
  18. Would be up for plough meetup to say hello to new babies and bumps!
  19. Glad your home Caroline - was lovely to bump into you! Gabriel is so cute! We were in your position with our first baby so my hubby was almost def speaking from the heart. If only you could have babies backwards - seems so much easier second time round - the anxiety that comes with number one can make things so tricky. All I can say is try to enjoy these first few weeks as they are so special. PS how hot is that flaming ward? Good puddings tho xx
  20. Hi there lovely to see Carolinea and baba in Kings where I dashed in after 2 and a half hour labour on Monday to give birth to Elijah Blake Davis! Good luck all - watch out for those on 2nd babas - so much quicker !
  21. Loving this thread! Molly I've never browned anything off before putting it in and never suffered any harm! I mainly use mine when I'm working but it's also useful if you've got people coming for dinner / lunch and are doing something with them during the day and dont want to have to start cooking when you get back. Did a lovely Jamie recipe with chicken breasts and legs and different varieties of tomatoes - all sticky and very tasty after a days walking in The woods with friends staying recently!
  22. I am teased by friends for extolling the virtues of the slow cooker - or the magic pot as its called in our house! Big fan of the original 'crock pot' - fantastic when your working - we make irish stew, spag bol, chilli, curries and endless casseroles. Any meat/veg combo seems to work. Literally bung it all in in the morning and come home to a meal. My tip is to thicken the dish at the end ( flour and butter roux or cornflower ) as the liquid doesnt reduce down like it does in pan. It reminds me of that bit in Bridget Jones where her mum is trying to convince her to get one and is talking about chopping veg before she goes to work and she says 'Christ mother I can barely make a glass of water before work!'
  23. Hi there Just wanted to say how sorry i am to hear you were mugged. How low to target a heavily pregnant woman on crutches. We met at the first meet up at the garden way back when - im due Wednesday and feeling very creaky and tired. Hope you bearing up.
