Mini micro scooter advice please
millie42 replied to Fi from West Dulwich's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Both of my kids have had these scooters for about 2 years and they are still going strong. I would however recommend getting the Maxxi version if possible - more expensive but lasts much longer and the handle can adjust down to the Micro size if your little one is not too tall. I suspect my younger son will soon be pestereing me for the Maxxi version as he regularily uses his brothers and in hindsight I should have bought him that one from the start. I have friends whose 2 year old use the Maxxi so may be an idea to check it out and may avoid you a second purchase in a year or so. -
Hi all, We are looking for some ideas for my son's 6th birthday party in February. We have done the usual Gambados parties so would welcome some inspiration. He is not very sporty which rules out all the usual swimming and football parties. All ideas very welcome.

Anyone have a child who likes to sail dinghies?
millie42 replied to Fuschia's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hi there. I am keen for my son (nearly 6) to start doing this. What club does your son attend? -
I would second the football club mentioned by CurlyKaren above. My younger son is ordinarily SO not into football but went and he had a fantastic time. The coach is a total natural with kids and made the hour totally age appropriate and fun. The option of drop in is also great!

Baby eczema and washing liquid question
millie42 replied to Al&Em's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Poor thing. Both my sons have had very bad eczema and the way forward for us was in FINALLY identifying what the triggers were for the outbreaks. Previous to this we tried everything and spent a small fortune on products and seeing dermatologists. I was then recommended to use someone in Sydenham who did this very successfully and their eczema has now pretty much gone. If you would like their details please feel free to pm. I personally avoid any steroids or petroleum based topical creams. -

Hi there. Am looking for good art classes - messy play, painting and general creative stuff for 3 year old. I seem to recall Artastic classes - are they suitable and do they still run? Thanks in advance M

Hi there and I would suggest you go for it. I had my first son at 38 and second at 41. luckily, both were conceived immediatelty once we started trying and both were easy pregnancies. Everyone kept telling me it would take ages because of my age but just not true with us. Totally knackered all the time now but probably would have been had I had them in my 20s. Having spoke to a number of medics its clear that fertility is linked to many more factors than simply age (family history, individual history, smoking, stress and diet etc). If you conceived easily the first time I am sure you probably will again. My nuchal reading for number one was that of a 26 year old and for number two that of a 22 year old so dont try not to worry abut that too much as well. My sugestion would be to ditch the statistics and hit the red wine! Good luck.
