Join me at Carnival Coffee in Penge for a fermentation workshop. No experience required, I'll teach you everything you need to know to make your own kimchi to take home and ferment with full instructions. Kimchi is a spicy fermented cabbage condiment with added probiotic benefits. Book tickets here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/christmas-kimchi-fermentation-workshop-at-carnival-coffee-penge-tickets-753063843227?aff=oddtdtcreator
  2. Good on ya - I never bother. Just buy it from the Sri Lankan store near Catford (Ganesha)
  3. Babur is yum, only had a takeaway from there recently. I'm a carnivore but if you want some of my fave vegan Sri Lankan recipes, beetroot curry, kale mallung and pol roti are delicious and easy to make. Some links for you: https://www.theflavorbender.com/sri-lankan-beetroot-curry/ https://www.theflavorbender.com/sri-lankan-pol-roti-coconut-roti/ https://blog.fatfreevegan.com/2011/08/kale-mallung-sri-lankan-kale-with-coconut.html
  4. Anyone else eaten here since it opened? The menu looks really great. I am looking for somewhere for my birthday meal but as someone of Sri Lankan origin I am quite fussy about where I eat curry (when I'm not making it at home!)
  5. Is the AskMyGP service offered by Tessa Jowell not working? I've used it about two times to book an appointment but over the last couple of months when I try to log on it always says the system has no more appointments left for the day. Is the only way to get an appointment to call at 8am? Thanks!
  6. The training session is really great and the hire price is very reasonable.
  7. I was with DMC for years because I was too lazy to change but I've moved to Tessa Jowell and it is a bit easier to use the AskMyGP online system and they do get back to you within a specified amount of time.
  8. 9. I signed up for the bike buddy scheme recently but the person I was paired with doesn't seem available for cycling anytime soon so if anyone wants to go out cycling locally, please feel free to message. I am a female cyclist in my 40s.
  10. Sports Direct on Rye Lane has a decent selection of plain as well as branded/logo ones
  11. I quit booze in Dec 2018 and never looked back. Happy to chat more :)
