  1. This is a subject that really brings out the anger in a lot of Forum members. I have every sympathy with you but you need to be aware that abuse is coming your way. I work outdoors and I hear everything. Over the last couple weeks, I've not been able to hear sound at the normal level through my earbuds. It's not that the planes are louder (although they are more frequent than during lockdown). I think there's been some sort of atmospheric thing, low pressure or something. It's been the same with traffic. Even just one car driving slowly has been LOUD.
  2. Me, for two/three days. Finally reported it. Might help if you do too.
  3. My premium slowly crept up over the years and then one day I rang them. Random adjustments that I had not requested had been added automatically by their computerised system. It's well worth ringing them to register your concern and ask for the quote to be lowered. I only had to call once, now it only goes up by pennies each year.
  4. What are the dates please.
  5. I've heard of a Norwich Union policy which provides insurance if the subsidence was 15 or 25 years ago (can't remember which).
  6. Dulwich Pot Shop, next to North Dulwich Station, tweeted yesterday. ON sale too.
  7. They spent millions removing it from the Olympic site. Definitely not an old wives tale.
  8. He used to be above the Half Moon and then down Norwood Road, both in Herne Hill, so may be new to Dulwich. I loved the boxing training, you don't have to hit anyone in case you are worried. I dropped weight and gained tone quickly. I used to get trained by Angel too which was a treat.
  9. I'm in Herne Hill and they fly around my garden every night at dusk. I have lots of flowers and some night scented especially to attract moths and therefore bats.
  10. I see plenty of helicopters hovering trying to pursue knife crime.
  11. My pottery tutor mentioned that she had done a hen do and that it went well.
  12. Try Yen Lin Chong - 07798 530 265.
  13. I think the stressful bit at E&C is where the public walk into the cycle path (near the bus stops, opposite the shopping centre) not realising/caring that it's not the pavement. Guzzler, best to slow down for that section.
  14. Round Up and Glyphosate are toxic to humans and animals and aquatic life. And one of the most dangerous things about them is that people do not read the label in terms of dosage and distribution. I'd wager that 90% of people who read this do not even read the label for something as commonly used as slug pellets.
  15. The sash window will vibrate if not installed correctly and snugly. Take care.
  16. I'd try to keep them out of sight. I hear of front doors in houses with communal hallways with being kicked down for the bikes quite often.
  17. I can recommend getting a burglar alarm. I was burgled a few years back and felt uneasy approaching the flat when coming home as I actually caught mine in the act. My alarm would phone me if set off and it really helped me get calmer quicker. They are not that expensive.
  18. Just in case you don't know Brockwell Park is now a ticketed to pay event. Pretty sure they need to be bought in advance, although not 100% sure.
  19. Co-op, Tesco have small ranges too. Check the Free From frozen range in large Sainsbury's, it's usually next to the Quorn. Ready meals in there. M&S also have a growing range, the bread is delicious. Pricey though.
  20. Yes, been on for ages.
  21. Sometimes they can get confused by sunlight reflecting on a window. In my old flat there was a wasp nest in a flat across the road and the evening sun reflecting on their windows led the wasps to my flat.
  22. I was gardening with someone yesterday afternoon, just near The Cambria Camberwell/Herne Hill border. Although we were only one metre away from each other we did actually have to raise our voices to be heard when the planes were directly overhead. Although I do my best to ignore it, it does bother me constantly when I'm in my garden and often wakes me early in the morning. I've just come on here to have a little moan so please don't offer to come round to check that I'm not an obsessive.
  23. Perhaps because you have a pretty similar reaction to posts to those you accuse of over reacting to plane noise.
  24. HPsaucey you need to get a white noise machine with a snooze button. He hits it when the planes come over or I suppose you could set a white noise timer for 4.30ish. Should send him off to sleep again.
