Southwark council wants our NI number!
trinidad replied to buddug's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
All voter of electors (voting register) must be ready for the 1st December, did you give your national Insurance Number to the council and registered to vote? -
If my memory serves me, i remember the plant store quite ample and there is also often a mobile coffee van outside of the entrance of the station, as well as nearby sainsburys. I am hoping it will be more like the new staore on Lordship road, I doubt it would sell clouthing, but what ever we get, its a good addittion to the area, even if it serves the commuters and ED of yummie mummys found in cafe Nero :)

ouragous, thank you for the heads up

I know slightly out of the area, but I often use the one way street off of Peckham Rye Lane. The road is quite close to the southwark college, and often has stalls on one side. Dispite it being one way, I always find cyclists hurting down towards me. Its not a contraflow for cyclists, and I really find it dangerous. Copleston road has a contraflow, but i really feel sorry for the cyclists as once they cycle to the end of the road, there is no lane or track to allow them to continue onto grove vale. The only option they have is to dismount or cycle on the pavement.

Southwark council like most councils up and down the country are currently updating there annual voter of elector list. HEFS (Housing Enquiry forms) were sent out by mail to every householder in the borough several weeks ago. Canvassers have started vising householders who have not responded to the HEF. This year, the canvassers are using IPads. For those perspective voters added to a HEF, they would also need to complete a Individual Registration form, by providing Id. Householders can go online, use the free telephone service, text and even return their signed HEF. Friendly trained canvassers are currently visiting. Have you responded to your HEF as yet?

thank you, how are they paid, Direct Debit? -
Oddly enough, I just received a letter out of the blue from saltash, asking me if i am happy with the works, and if I dont respond within 14 days, the company will assume i am. Has anyone else receive such a letter, especially as we had the works completed last year? As I was leaving my home yesterday, a person appraoched me and i asked me if i lived at a certain street number, I said no, that was next door. He appraoched my neighbour and said he was from Saltash, and was here to fix the windows. These are the windows which were painted closed in February 2015. Apart from the huge time delay, the operative turned up to my neighbours home, bare chested. Keep up the high standards Saltash

yes your right with the increase in crime last year, sadly thats not good. I also really feel for those spending hours all squashed up watching the carnival it self, there are times, when the route has such wide roads, i can dance from one side, to the next so freely, and i am completely safe!!! The best standing has got to be the judging point and thats when all the groups are given there ten minutes of fame to dance like crazy to impress the judges. Our DJ often gets us jeared up, and then as we rush towards the jusging part, all hell lets loose and hundreds from your group dance like crazy. Even thinking about it gives me goose bumps, i really hope the weather is like today. -

Ken Livingstone tried to relocate to Hyde Park. In Trinidad, the carnival ends in a large sprawling park like Hyde Park. I love the music, and I have never experienced any issues, problems what so ever. No violence, no intimadation, no gangs, just everyone enjoying themselves. I much rather be "in" the carnival, than watching. Im srounded by stewards, police and security, let along the barriers and security staff. -
Hello Toffee, i started a thread approx a year ago about Saltash, when the contracting company carried out majore works on my street. i have to say my experiences are not as good as the ones on your thread. The main failings was a not so proactive liaison officer. If you get a good one of those, most things seem to fall into place!! Are you having some private work carried out by them, or are they carrying out major works on your street?

I will most certainly try and get some pictures, and upload them here. Thank you so much for being positive, many on this thread dont seem to support the idea at all, so sad :( I just hope the weather keeps up, i cant wait to get my costume tomorrow. I paid for it way back in May. It can be really scary for the first timer, and im not talking about crime, but more about the vast amount of people looking at you. I got tons of pictures taken of me, kids trying on my hat, it was great fun, would not miss it for the world, I have attended several times, i love it, and even the police officers get involved to. six days and counting..... come on Team Notting Hill Carnival -
