  1. Yeah I did see that am, but assumed platform 3 is somewhere on the under construction bit... Thx straferjack, v kind of you :)
  2. we are going early doors, so no direct train all the way unfort
  3. Hullo, has anyone been through blackfriars in the last few weeks? I will be heading to st pancras early tomorrow morning and think the best way is from peck rye via blackfriars. However we will be travelling with our one year old in pram plus two suitcases. checking the train times when we change at blackfriars we need to go from platform 3 to platform 2... Despite all my best googling I can't find a plan of the new platforms anywhere, so my question is, are plats 2 and 3 next to each other or will we and all of our stuff have to negotiate stairs/escalators/lifts (in which case we might be better going via London bridge)?
  4. Just wanted to add that I feel v much the same. My beautiful little girl is nearly one now and in some ways I couldn't be happier, but in other ways I just feel a little lost, not sure what I'm going to do with my life in the long run (work won't accept me back part time so I have quit), keep thinking about all these things I should have done when I was footloose and fancy free (climb to base camp, go to more music festivals etcetc) It is crazy how much your work defines you, even if you don't love your job that much... I also think with myself that although I'm obviously crazy busy running round after a toddler, in other ways I have much more time on my hands to sit and stew and worry about stuff, whereas if I was at work I'd be too busy trying to hit a deadline... Anyway, rambling slightly, and I wish I had some great advice to give but I honestly don't! Just wanted to tell you that you're definitely not the only ne that feels like this, as sometimes just knowing that can make you feel better :) Xxxx
  5. Thinking of trying this for the first time tomorrow, but am not (and do not wish to be in the future!) religious at all... Is that ok or is it really church-y?
  6. hi both my husband and i are avid cyclists and now its getting warmer (fingers crossed!) we'd like to get a bike seat to fix onto one or both of our bikes so we take our little daughter out on the bike. about to start researching this, so thought i'd see if any of you guys had any personal reccomendations... cheers!
  7. I was just reading on their offsted report something about the organisation of the rooms for the under twos being a little haphazard and the little ones therefore not having access to the various play bits.... Does anyone know if this is a real concern? Or should I just ignore the satisfactory rating? Blimey, finding nurseries is such hard work in ed... My daughters name is down at little jungle but I don't think she'll get a place there this century! Need somewhere from June-ish....
  8. Does anyone have any experiences of this nursery?
  9. Hi, has anyone any experience of this nursery? Got my daughters name down for little jungle, but they're being far from committed on her chance of a place from early summer and I'm now looking at other options around the goose green area,.... Ay advice much appreciated :)

  16. Last Monday 8th august I lost my baby's toy somewhere between the traffic lights at Peckham rye/east dulwich road and abbotswood road. I walked down east dulwich road, turned right at adys, then left at ondine, then right on grove vale crossing probably by the station, then using the cut through on st Francis road to reach abbotswood when I realised it was missing It's been passed down through my sister in laws four kids do I feel awful and would really like to find it! It's A small wooden mouse with a bell that hangs on a clip from the pram. If anyone has seen it pls pls send me a pm Thanks!!
  17. House or garden On fire in marsden roAd, we live around the corner and spotted the smoke straightaway. My husband ran over and helped An old lady leave her house, but doesn't think anyone was harmed too badly And that the fire was in between two houses rather than one house itself, but he isn't 100%. loads of rubberneckers stood outside our house nOw but the fire brigade came really quickly and all seems to be under control
  18. We have one you're welcome to come and look at... Though we haven't used it yet (due next week), we got in via sister in law who loved it....
  19. i'm pretty sure it does, will try and check this weekend though... if i haven't got back to you its just my baby brain, so ping me a reminder & i'll look for you :)
  20. yep you give them a cheque for ?60 for a new set of liners and if for some reason you don't end up using it, then they tear your cheque up. i think the only possible downside to it all, is that if you're very late then the person booked in after you might end up needing it before you (if that makes sense).. but apparently at the moment its not in demand too much anyhow...
  21. i've actually elected to go with the brierley one and my lveoloy midwife rae bought it over this morning, so we'll have a practice run at putting it up this weekend. apparently it does have padded edges and a padded floor so should be comfortable (plus you can put extra towels/bedding etc under it of course). i'm not due til may 10th though so will be a wee while before it get a full test run :)
  22. i am planning a homebirth with brierley and am due in 4 weeks now (eek!) and trying to decide whether to use their birthing pool or buy one of those blow-up pool in a box ones. in my head i have it that the brierley one is bigger and with hard sides so might not be as comfortable as a blow up one.... anyone have any opinions or better still a photo of it? cheers!
  23. sorry to hi-jack this thread but i was wondering... the mums who used brierley, did anyone use their birthing pool too? i am planning a homebirth with brierley and in due in 4 weeks now (eek!) and trying to decide whether to use their birthing pool or buy one of those blow-up pool in a box ones. in my head i have it that the brierley one is bigger and with hard sides so might not be as comfortable as a blow up one.... anyone have any opinions?
