ED! Your advice needed // Neighbour trashing street
ED Bird replied to ED Bird's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I'm reallly surprised that their next door neighbours haven't spoken up to them about it. I can only imagine how frustrating it must be for them! -
I'm looking for the best way to approach this situation... if at all. I have a neighbour on my street who intentionally leaves trays of microwavable food out for foxes {I'm guessing}. Not only am I worried that this could attract rodents, but it also leaves the street looking trashed, as the empty trays never get picked up, just left to be swept down the road. I love foxes & I really wouldn't mind this person leaving food out, if they could just tidy up after themselves. This began around October. I've seen up to 6 empty trays at one time dispersed along my short street. It stopped & became tidy the moment road work began to replace the pavements, but is slowly returning at their front gate. Do I leave a note or let it go? I pass this every day & my thoughts on how to deal with it fluctuate. Maybe I shouldn't say/do anything at all?

Yes! You can see more of these beauties in Dulwich Park {at the bridge}.

I live on one of these roads & as a local cat sitter I'm currently in & out, walking these streets, so I will definitely keep my eyes open. At least it's raining, so people are a lot less likely to be looking at anything, just eager to get to their destination!

The only "vermin" here, Fitzgeraldo, is you. If you spent less time living in your cosy little bubble & had any clue about the horrors other countries are currently facing, you wouldn't have posted this insensitive drivel to begin with. You do realise people are risking & losing their lives to save animals - many on the brink of extinction - in Australia's bushfires right now? Does your situation compare?

Do they not have a notice on the gates, like those at Goose Green, to keep the gates closed at all times? It sounds like this isn't the first & wont be the last time this happens unless it is reported. How terrifying for both of you. I'm terribly sorry to hear this happened. I hope Flo pulls through with a full recovery; both mentally & physically.

Prep your little lions for a stress-free evening! 🐱✨ I think we can all agree that the Lost & Found section consists mainly of cats going missing. So I figured this heads up was needed... 50% of cats & dogs suffer from firework stress. Statistically more cats & dogs are reported to go missing on occassions like this more than any other night in the year. This is why it is so important to always have proper identification tags, with up-to-date contact information. Microchipping is strongly recommended. By now hopefully, you'll have let your little lions out earlier in the day, but now is the time to call them back in & keep them housebound for the rest of the night {this is a really good habit to have all-year-round too. I personally don't lock up for bed without knowing my boys are safe & settled in}. Secure doors & windows, close the curtains & give them easy access to a hiding place. Alternaitvely, your little lion might just prefer to get snuggled up with you. Play some music, put on Netflix, provide some form of sound to drown out that of the entertainment taking place outside. Animals sense stress & anxiety so stay calm & they will feed off of your energy. - The Wingless Bird @ http://www.TheWinglessBird.com/

Lost cuddly favourite teddy - dirty/white rabbit
ED Bird replied to peckham_family's topic in Lost, Found or Stolen
Oh no! I hope he's been rescued from the rain! 😓 I used to have a bunny named "Bunny" when I was baby. Now 30 years old & it still holds such sentimental value. You've probably tried this already, but have you asked in the Dulwich Tavern if anyone has handed it in {or any nearby shops you've passed}? I hope your little girl gets reunited with her rabbit x -

ED newbie, looking to meet local people
ED Bird replied to TayCee's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Hi Tanja, Welcome to East Dulwich! It's not like me to throw myself out there, because much like yourself, I'm very socially shy & awkward. Just call me the Newt Scamander {Fantastic Beasts} of East Dulwich??? 😅 I like to spend the majority of my time around animals {I'm the girl behind a local & personal cat sitting service called "The Wingless Bird"}, but my background is in fashion, floral & web design. I'm very much a Libra so I'm easy to connect with. Because I work so locally, I'm always around between 11-2pm on my lunch breaks. Count me in for a coffee meet up/gathering or if you just ever need a hand with anything, I'd love to be someone you can call on for help! Warmest wishes, Heather -
It may be worth looking into having a security camera installed. There are many different kinds & it doesn't have to be anything fancy/pricey. I'm sure someone here can recommend one for you.

He has one white whisker & a white patch on his chest. He doesn't have a microchip but he is believed to be owned & lost. He was found near Mary Datchelor House in Camberwell & has been taken in to The Neighbourhood Vets. ED Bird replied to Bena6111's topic in Lost, Found or Stolen
Hi Bena6111, There have been a lot of of missing cats in & around East Dulwich at the moment, so thank you so much for your quick thinking & taking a picture of this cat as it does sound like it could be lost! You can try uploading your image to https://imgur.com/ alternatively, I'd be more than happy to help if you send them to my number 07715288964 or email at [email protected]. I have a number of clients whose friends are missing their little lions. I can resize & post it here for you. Heather {The Wingless Bird} -
Remember, Remember... that pets don't like the 5th of November! 🎆🐱✨ Fireworks season is upon us & with just one night to go until Guy Fawkes I'd like to post a little reminder to prep your little lions for a stress-free evening & to prevent any runaways! ... Please. Let your little lions out earlier in the day, call them back before sunset & keep them housebound for the rest of the night {this is a really good habit to have all-year-round too. I personally don't lock up for bed without knowing my boys are safe & settled in}. Secure doors & windows, close the curtains & give them easy access to a hiding place.
