Personally, I'm less concerned about the success of the seller, & more the time-wasting of potential buyers. I also find it sketchy when people just want to 'come & have a look', if the seller has already provided numerous pictures, measurements & even a link to the original store they bought the item from. What else is there to look at? Other than an opportunity to enter your home & general nosiness. Not everyone has that kind of time on their hands. Many people, like myself, work a full day {+ weekends!}. Due to the consistent time-wasting of trade through the forums, I've stopped.
  2. I'd follow the noise & find out exactly where it is coming from. Leave a note of concern & take it from there. Not a lot of people read these forums. You have regulars & those who just come here to trade or seek advice. Heather {The Wingless Bird}
  3. This shocks me. You have more compassion for criminals than those who are having their homes invaded? God help this country. lameduck Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Dear God > how did they manage while the people were at > home? > must be desperate, > worrying
  4. first mate Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- Yes, you cannot assume the person she was seen with was her owner. +1
  5. Mine gets noisy as you level up. It's quiet up to level 5, then it'll start to sound like a laptop's fan, & then around level 10 it sounds furious :)) It does have a night mode, which is quiet. But I imagine the latest models will be better {or I'd hope so}. Heather {The Wingless Bird}
  6. I knew nothing of air purifiers before I took the plunge & bought the Dyson! I knew that I was happy with my Dyson hoover & handheld, & the hair dryer, so I just hoped for the best. I actually ordered mine to relieve my hayfever, which it had great reviews for, & it really has helped. It just so happened to take out any cooking smells & the cannabis/bonfire/BBQ smokes too! I've had mine for roughly 4 years, so I'm having trouble finding the exact same one via the site. They've since brought out newer models. Mine is the tall, slim tower {in the picture}, but if I was to get another, I'd definitely get one I can sit on a surface, so I can move it from room to room. Oh, & with a cooling effect too! Because mine just gives that illusion of coolness, when it's just blowing around warm air :)) Re. EDF Facebook You might be on the sale section. Are there 2 tabs, one for posts & the other for sales? Neighbours are constantly talking & asking for advice on there. Alternatively, try EDM https://www.facebook.com/groups/EastDulwichParents/- they're lovely! Heather {The Wingless Bird}
  7. I wouldn't be surprised if they did. The account is @DulwichSquare .

Sadly, but unsuprisingly, the labour councillors are all on board, so I cannot see turning to them for help being of any help at all.
  9. It may be worth putting a note on that notice board. He doesn't seem to be active on these forums. But I'll repost it on FB. Heather {The Wingless Bird}
  10. I really feel for you, sarah-marie. My neighbours smoke cannabis & frequently light bonfires etc. stinks out my entire house. Air purifiers can get pretty pricey & there may be cheaper ones out there, but I can say the Dyson actually works. If you do end up getting one, I think there may be sites {like Next} that allow you to pay it off in parts. I'd also suggest asking on the EDF Facebook group, where there's more activity & have raised this topic before. Good luck! Heather {The Wingless Bird}
  11. I actually saw this lovely dog, with what I assumed to be the owner, 2 days ago. If memory serves me right, he was turning in, where Barry Rd & Underhill Rd meet {where the notice board is}. He caught my eye, because I saw a big black dog bounding freely down the road, as if he'd just been taken off his leash. The guy was tall, black, short hair {may have been wearing a cap}, with the leash bundled up in one hand.
  12. Annie5 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- And a lot of stuff being nicked is not "basic essentials". I saw a young guy in M&S put 2 bottles of champagne into a plastic bag and start to walk out. When the security guard challenged him, his mother started screaming "he's my son - call the police then - I dont care" I can't imagine these people live locally, as there's always a chance they'll run into a friend, neighbour, client, co-worker... No dignity whatsoever. Shoplifting happens so frequently in Tesco's {East Dulwich Road} & Co-Op {Lordship Lane} I'm shocked they haven't installed CCTV by now. Then again, they are quite laid back in their approach to dealing with these situations too, as I've witnessed in both locations. The majority of my clients have Ring installed. Many residents have some form of security camera installed. So there's absolutely no excuse for why these supermarkets cannot install a security camera at their entrance.

I didn't think much of this wall art to begin with. I'd prefer to see more by Atila... or the artist who did the Kingfisher!
  14. Karavan Eco are selling cotton face masks for ?3.00. They come in sizes, nice colours, & individually packaged, but the woman says she'll be restocking size small this week {they only had size large over the weekend}.
  15. This is just a basic template provided by Squarespace with a gmail account. It's a slap-dash job. There's nothing skilled or professional about it.
  16. I believe I passed the 3 of you yesterday, sat around the little black cat. At first I thought something might have happened & was about to stop {I'm a feline behaviourist & cat sitter as it happens! so I'm certified in Feline First Aid}, but as I got closer I realised he/she was just taking in a lot of attention! There are a lot of cats on Eynella Road, enjoying the sun {a siamese was rolling back & forth on the road that same morning} but I'll keep an eye out & ask around.
  17. This clearly wasn't handled by a rehoming shelter... sad. The best times to call & search are mornings & evenings when the streets have less activity, she can hear a familiar voice & will be more likely to come out. Good luck.
  18. Hi! Have you tried contacting The Fox Project or NFWS to connect you with the nearest rescuers? You can also try contacting The Fox Man { https://www.facebook.com/thefoxmanuk/ } or Fox-A-Gon who may provide more help than the RSPCA. Hopefully the fox has been freed by now x

  20. Echoing the above! This really warms my heart. You can also contact The Neighbourhood Vets in times of emergency, as they were able to save my little swift & transfer him to a sanctuary. Kindest, Heather {The Wingless Bird}
  21. It's breeding season, so you will see a lot more foxes than usual at this time of year, & they might seem a little more confident.
  22. Highly recommend following @curvywitch88 on her Black Lives Matter UK Protest platforms. These are safe, peaceful & distanced protests you can participate in from the comfort of your homes. Visit her on FB to see the amazing ways people are getting involved. Nothing but love. The event https://www.facebook.com/events/935909903525530/ {with a lot of useful content} has expanded into a page https://www.facebook.com/blacklivesmatterprotestpage/ & share Let's Talk Racism https://www.instagram.com/letstalkracism/ ✊🏻✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿 Kindest, Heather {The Wingless Bird}
  23. JohnL, whilst I still stand by my earlier post, I have to apologise, as the entirety of the message was aimed at everyone who participates in the aforementioned behaviour, not directly at you. Reading back on my post it looks like I'm aiming a fireball directly at you. Even the opening of your thread did not conjur my reaction, but rather the lively response it recieved. I'm not the most articulate. I'll leave this to DulwichBorn&Bred!
  24. You know what isn't a good look {no, of course you don't} white people with their white privilege showing their complete disregard for the injustice black people face to this day. Between you posting a thread with more concern for some white journalist working for the BBC, PK dragging down a serious topic just to feel that white power coursing through his veins right now, & Malumbu stealing the spotlight with his white fragility, like a group of white people sitting around singing kumbaya is the solution. It didn't work then & it isn't working now. But every single one of you just loves to throw the word "racist" around when you're trying to make them choose a political side, neither of which actually helps the black community. You are the problem. Go back & read those quotes by black men & find those black women to understand why they will not side with you no matter how much you accuse people of racism. Be ashamed of yourselves that not a single one of you bothered to break the silence & confront the issue on systematic racism on a self-proclaimed anti-fascist, labour voting forum. Not a single one of you. DulwichBorn&Bred is mixed race. If she's willing to try, then WTF is your excuse? Sit your asses down & be schooled. {Quote removed because this wasn't aimed directly at JohnL}.
  25. Relevant to what, exactly? This forum's wishful, simplistic blindness to reality, especially in the political sphere?
