Why have we got a 20mph zone, if nobody pays any attention to it? It must have cost a fortune of our money to set up. Even the speed platforms newly put onto east dulwich grove, supposedly to restrict traffic to 20 mph are completely ignored. It is not even enforced by the police. So WHY??

I keep hearing "ignored by Southwark officers" Who are these unelected high and mighty people who represent themselves and ignore the people that they should be representing. Can't we get rid of them and put people in that do what we want?

Yes that's exactly what happens. It just pushes the traffic onto somebody else's area. Very selfish!!!!

This doesn't mean it isn't a pain in the proverbial for some. The closure of Townley Road hasn't led to dire traffic levels along Lordship Lane/Melbourne Grove as far as I'm aware. So! How did you do it?

Well, i left a Bosch battery drill outside my house in Trossachs Rd yesterday. Boxed with charger and instruction book etc. Note on the box said?. For Sale ?5 ( battery doesn't hold charge) Please put ?5 through door. I wasn't worried about the money and just hoped that honesty would prevail. Drill gone? No money? London eh!!

Well, that caught me out!! I thought it had been batted into the long grass. There is work starting this morning on the junction of East Dulwich Grove & Townley Rd with markings substantially reducing the size of the roads and according to the workmen creating a no left turn onto EDG from Townley. I can remember when there was no traffic lights at all. It seemed to work fine.

well it Had two rotors and was bloody noisy. I can't be it didn't wake half of south London!!

went out during the day time on wednesday and came home to my wife's Vespa ET2 drained of petrol and my peugeot Vivacity scooter drained of 2 stroke oil. Be aware!! I live in Trossachs Rd East Dulwich. ( there were people in my house all day!!) I have ordered two alarms and adjusted the security light to cover the bikes.

Did anybody hear the Chinook(army) helicopter at 2am last night. It did about 6 circuits above east dulwich and to the north with it's search light on they flew off. Most unusual!! Often get the police but not Chinooks and not at 2am. Any ideas?

I see Melbourne road was closed for a street party yesterday. Was it in aid of anything? How did it go?

sounds like she was Mrs Grumpy. I would have cycled round her and responded to any comments in kind.

rule 206 of the highway code says?. turning at road junctions; give way to pedestrians who are already crossing the road into which you are turning so if the pedestrian was already on the road crossing!!

no please not a CPZ. This just spreads parking problems onto the surrounding areas and is a tax on parking that we don't need within the CPZ.

Look! all it needs is a sign saying BEWARE OF ONCOMING CYCLISTS at the traffic lights on Townley rd. If that is the problem. Cost ?50 , Done!!

Let's go back to No Traffic lights. As it was for many years without a problem. It seems like it is a job creation scheme. Stop trying to think of new ways to spend our money and either reduce our council tax bills or repair the road surfaces which are disgraceful!!

I've had 5 bikes stolen in the 19 years of living in Trossachs Road. I made the mistake of thinking that they were too old to want to steal. My last Bike was carried out of my front garden.You could see the thief's footprints as they had climbed over my window ledge to access the bike. That was a BMW 650 Strada. I now chain to the lamppost and to each other. So far so good!! Oh, Police didn't bother coming out once!

our road was resurfaced last saturday. they decided to only do a third of the road. and lifted a car from that part of the street to in front of my house where it has been ever since, thanks!
