Had a feeling this would be the case. The one on Lordship Lane looks too small for even a 'small' Waitrose.

Cafe in Peckham Rye goes cashless
imasnookercue replied to siousxiesue's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Im all for this really. In Peckham lots of people dont have cards and as a result there are huge queues at supermarket tills as they stand around waiting for the 1 sole till operaotr/machine that takes coins, but not actually making people aware of this so a big queue builds up behind them. This is very annoying and wastes my time. If it were up to me, everywhere would be card only. If you dont have a bank card then you are probably quite dodgy anyway. -
Outrageous, ive got a good mind to ring up the manager of Heathrow Airport and give him a piece of my mind!

One plane went over my house before 5am this morning, is that permitted ?

i suppose not, but then possibly big enough for the area, as most people are happy to pay ?5.90 for a pint elsewhere in Dulwich?
-
They were filing outside that Japanese place a couple of doors down from the Post Office yesterday morning too

Possibly somewhere for Wetherspoons to consider? The Peckham one is far too ghastly for me and parents could even sup a pint whilst keeping an eye on the kids in the park?

Isn't it peculiar how 'the best pizza shop in London' suddenly closed down? I'd of thought they would be fighting to contain the insatiable demand from breaking down the doors!

As someone who vapes and lives about 2 minutes walk away, i could of made good use of his shop. When i went in he didnt really have much and didnt care, and seemed to make up the price of what i eventually bought. No wonder he done a runner

New Shops in Dulwich / Peckham

I noticed that the big old William Hill by ED station is empty, that seemed a far better place for a mini Waitrose. The building looks like it used to be a pub. Does anyone know if thats the case, and if so, any knowledge of what it was like? -

If you are feeling a little skint after Christmas or whatever, you can also not bother paying for your goods as the small stores do not have scales on their self service tills. Just a little trick 'a friend' told me about when the friend lived in Clapham Common.

New Shops in Dulwich / Peckham

> recent addition of the chain As Nature intended, > pay ?5000pcm in rent. This chain have stores in > Balham, Chiswick, Ealing, Marble arch other > expensive locations. ?5k a month in rent, you sure? Theyll need to sell a lot of mung beans to make that one work out. -
Still waiting and hoping that we get a Fortnum & Mason type outlet on Lordship Lane. The 2 M&S stores are completely overrun with middle aged, well off ladies literally hellbent on chucking everything with a yellow sticker in their baskets. They clog up the aisles and unnecessarily decimate the stock available to those who come after work to buy dinner for the evening. A more upmarket store would hopefully seperate the wheat from the chaff and those who wish to can shop in more pleasant surroundings.

Fireworks at 10.30 pm - Dulwich Village area?
imasnookercue replied to Metallic's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I would actually argue that maybe if fireworks apparently 'upset' their dog, then they shouldnt have a dog. Its not particularly kind keeping a dog indoors within a big city anyway- it would have a happier life in the countryside and wouldnt have to listen to other peoples fireworks. -
Isnt Voodoo Ray's ?4 for a SLICE of pizza? Ludicrous! (dont care how big they are btw)

Some people shouldnt live in London at all if they are going to get annoyed at some fireworks on the weekend. -
Fireworks at 10.30 pm - Dulwich Village area?
imasnookercue replied to Metallic's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
As someone has already pointed out, if there was fireworks being let off at 10:30pm then there is absolutely nothing wrong with this. They are allowed to by law, and to expect people to not have fireworks just because you might upset some dog that might live nearby is unreasonable. Ill be letting plenty off this autumn and do not expect anyone to complain, or theyll be told the law as well as my opinions on the matter. Also i consider comparing some fireworks to the Blitz in poor taste, especially when they would be nowhere near the same. -
Good, if you look at the Tripadvisor reviews, almost all of them are coincidentally from a user who has only ever reviewed once, and rated Pizza Pickup very favourably, giving it 5 stars. We all know that this means it is the owners/employees deliberately writing these and misleading people into thinking the takeaway is the mutts nutts. This is dishonest and sneaky, so im pleased if they have gone out of business.
