  1. I walked the dog at about 5pm and there were several picked daffodils strewn around the grass. If your going to pick them at least take them home!

    The Apprentice

I love the apprentice. Some of the more cringeworhy moments ( at least for me ) was the episode from last years when they did the 'laundry' task last year and the girls team asked outright for a tip when delivering laundry that didn't even belong to the person they were delivering to. From the series before when they had to go to France and attempted to sell several Kilos of English Cheddar to the French. Ok I have holidayed many times in France on a self catering basis so have seen personally the range of cheeses available in France. What made the arrogant young people think they could sell anything ( or fob off very poor service ) and consider themselves good at business? Laughable. Indeed I watch with my family which includes two teenagers. It actually gives me the opportunity to give advise to my kids on ' How not to patronise and think your great when your not'. That said I think there is quite a lot to learn from the programme. It's good TV, let's hope this series gives us lots to talk about. I think it probably will.
  3. Has anyone noticed that the ones in the previously fenced off area are flourishing more than the Roundabout end? I noticed this last year and wondered if there was an explanation. Also you can buy a bunch of Daffs for ?1 and John Alan's. My son bought me two bunches for Mothers Day and thay are very, very lovely indeed!

  8. I think Red Nose Day is every two years but yes it does seem to come round a lot sooner. At the end of the day it does raise a lot of money which can't be a bad thing. However I confess I am becoming somewhat of a curmudgeon myself when celebs like Lenny Henry suddenly take centre stage. I am also a little suspect about Robbie Williams . I suppose for the celebrities involved they might say. " I'm damned if I do and I'm damned if I don't." To answer the OP, yes it grates.

As far as I'm aware there isn't a secret cure for diabetes. If there was, a pharmaceutical company would patent the 'cure' which would probably produce unimaginable wealth for said company. Unfortunately our children are consuming unprecedented amounts of sugar in their diet now which has led to a worryingly high level of Type 2 diabetes which used to only affect people in middle or old age, ( with the exception of pregnancy induced diabetes ) at a much earler age. Juvenile onset diabetes has always existed and I would add that those affected have not ' brought it on themselves ' with poor diet, it has been a form of diabetes that has always existed and almost certainly always will. A cure for this would be one of the greatest medical break-throughs ever seen. I wish it could be so.
