  1. This guy and another guy were in Honor Oak last night - very agressive sales technique. Beware.
  2. Gabi is fab and local - http://www.gabimarx.com/
  3. I flew to Australia with a 10 week old and a 3 year old last year and it was fine - baby was too small to notice too much and we did it in one go, he slept a lot of the way in the crib thing. A night flight is much better than a day flight (from previous bitter experience) as it was 10pm by the time we got on the plane and he slept a lot of the first leg!
  4. My little boy is at the Ackroyd baby unit and I think its lovely, couldn't be happier with it!
  5. I've got an 8 week old and am still using muslin squares - he was 10lbs so was a big baby , and has explosive poos - I've found the muslins really successful, the poos are no less contained than using a disposable, and the muslins wash up (I rinse poo ones in a bucket first) without leaving a stain - plus they dry in about half an hour! I used fitted nappies with my first baby - and they were massive and bulky on her at first - so am really happy with the muslins as they let my little boy stretch around so much more. 24 muslins cost me ?15 - so its really good value for the short time they can be used.
  6. The ackroyd centre on Ackroyd road has drop in mornings with loads of things for toddlers to play with (think its a couple of pounds) - fridays definately and I think they other days too. Lewisham library has a singing session on a thursday sometime as does crofton park library - on a friday I think. Theres something at St Augustine's church - a play drop in but have never been.
  7. We had a 1 in 3 risk, and decided to have a CVS because we felt we needed to prepare - they told us that if all went well with the second scan they could only reduce the risk to 1 in 6. So rather than go through the pregnancy with such a high risk and not knowing what to expect, we decided to find out - it came back negative and I'm due in a few weeks. I had previously been adamant that I'd never have an invasive test due to the risk of miscarriage, but its not until you're in that siutation that you can decide. We were also told - just before they did the test - that the miscarriage risk is only during the few minutes that the procedure takes.
  8. I have a recommendation that might suit if you want to send me a message but it would be honor oak rather than east dulwich.
  9. I've commuted into work for the last 2 years with my daughter - since she was 8 months old. The big upside is that I can drop her at 9 and pick her up at 5, we went through a bit of a sticky time on the train when it was hard to keep her entertained but now its not bad at all. Also its not overly easy on the stairs but I had an ergo baby carrier til she was about 16 mnths and now I have a really lightweight pram that I fold up and carry down the stairs. The main problem now is stopping her from pointing at people and commenting loudly on their physical appearance etc. I don't have far to go though and I'm pretty certain I wouldn't have done it if I'd had to use the tube.
  10. I just had my whole buggy stolen in Forest Hill at the weekend - coats and all (not with child in it though thankfully!) so I'm not sure the type of people that pinch things worry too much about whether its right to steal from , or near a child. I'd still not say 'trust no-one' though, its still just a relatively small slice of people that have no morals!
