  1. As a result of a major fire which started earlier along Peckham High St ( from junction of Bellenden Rd near Burger King) is closed in both directions with buses on diversion. https://www.standard.co.uk/news/london/peckham-fire-firefighters-tackle-large-blaze-on-high-street-in-south-east-london-a3815586.html
  2. Will miss Londis for their courier collection service , friendly staff and 24/7 opening hours. Unsure if this is an old link but appears the French House lease also on Lordship Lane is also possibly up for renewal. http://crm.daviscofferlyons.co.uk/property_images/18033/2637_Details_French_House_Est_Dulwich.pdf
  3. Jarvis Road will be closed on 26th February due to gas works being carried out.
  4. Received notification from UK Power Networks that parking will be suspended on Jarvis road and various sections of Melbourne Grove from 8th January in order to carryout electrical work in relation to the new school / medical centre. The details are : Jarvis Rd southside from 8th January - 30th January From junction of Jarvis Rd down to no. 36 Melbourne Grove from 11th January - 18th January Melbourne Grove O/S 36 down to junction of East Dulwich Grove from 18th January - 25th January
  5. I live nearby and they only have a couple of prefabs on site. They've been in this location for over a year and initially listed their incorrect address which meant I was disturbed frequently by deliveries and potential job applicants which they only rectified once threatened with social media publicity.
  6. Appears they possibly closed due to an excessive hike in business rates.
  7. Here's some info I found useful when recently applying for a market stall http://www.2.southwark.gov.uk/info/200066/markets_and_street_trading/3265/application_to_run_a_private_market_in_southwark
  8. The mini buses frequently parked at the junction of Avondale Rise and Bellenden Road are similarly annoying.
  9. Guess who's back back again ?
  10. Just to update the cat was taken to the vet earlier to check chipping status. Owner had been away and friend looking after cat. Glad both parties have been reunited.
  11. Are you the owner of a quite friendly black cat with a small white section under his chin who's frequently seen on Melbourne Grove , Jarvis rd ? He appears well groomed and used to occassionally visit in the past. However for the past two weeks has visited daily often taking up temporary residence in my garden. Admittedly fed having been taken in my the miaowing and charming nature but do not wish to be accused of catnaping.
  12. You're referring to the pilot which started last year for those under 18 or over 60. This will now be extended to all Southwark residents. > mrure26 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------ > These sessions were introduced in 2015, so they > are not new.
  13. Apologies if there is already a thread on. Southwark's scheme offering free gym and swimming sessions to all residents at six of it's leisure centres at selected times / days commences on 29th July. Refer to Southwark council website for details and registration.
  14. I'm the dandy highwayman whom you're too scared to mention. I spend my cash on looking flash and grabbing your attention. The devil take your stereo and your record collection ( from all the allegedly stationary traffic).
  15. Have you tried the Chocolate Museum in Brixton ?
  16. There was a similar collision involving two cars on Melbourne Grove ( north side ) around 7am on a Sunday two weeks ago. Both cars sustained major damages but all occupants appeared ok. Was surprised given this incident did not take place at the bend of the road and is usually quite at this time with full view of oncoming traffic.

My neighbour being one of those who has had a skip , building materials and wheelie bins( in order to park contractors van) in place since August thus effectively taking up 3 parking spaces. However I have no qualms about moving the wheelie bins if there are no other parking spaces available.

I may be wrong but that's > my guess The clothes shop that closed down on Melbourne Grove is now a Locksmiths which relocated from Lordship Lane.
  19. Hoping that the owner of this dog or their neighbour reads this. Could the owner who has left their dog in the garden of the houses backing onto Melbourne Grove / Derwent Grove (Northside ) please take the animal inside. It's quite concerning that the dog appears to have been left in the garden for most of the day and yelps continuously and is still doing so now. Unfortunately I cannot locate the house this relates to . The same thing happened yesterday. I'll be contacting the RSPCA for assistance.
  20. I live on Melbourne Grove (station end) and those road humps are also terrible .
  21. Hi James Was wondering if you have an update regarding the query relating to the overgrown trees at the rear of the Thai Pavillion on Melbourne Grove. Thanks
