  1. I second don'tpanic!
  2. There are loads of YouTube vids by Stampy Longnose, give you an idea of it. He is a gamer who basically plays it for a living. Really safe, got a big following and was even on breakfast telly this week. My son used the pocket edition too. I find it pretty creative, compared to others. Good luck.
  3. Have you tried Puddleducks? I really recommend it.
  4. Mama Feels Good do some funky t-shirt ones.

  6. The lovely Cherron does post natal Pilates at Dulwich Fusion on a Wed, but at 9.30am. She is fab though.
  7. I have a knitted one she can borrow. Drop me a pm if you still need it.
  8. Mandy at Shear Class in Nunhead. She is brilliant with kids, great cut, not a fancy salon but excellent service. My son was 'haircutphobic' until he met her.
  9. The Ivyhouse on Stuart Road usually has lots of space, good choice of drinks and food. Recommended.
  10. I guess the difference from having the subject knowledge versus qualified means that with the latter you have had the relevant training in child protection, pedagogy, behaviour management, cross curricular understanding, knowledge of transitions, lectures with professionals in the educational field. It is expected that the school will support, but that doesn't always happen. I had a good degree but wouldn't have felt comfortable going into a classroom without the training. That's just me though. I am hazarding a guess that the teacher mentioned has the knowledge but not the means to behaviour manage. I agree with Saffron - it is rather off that they can't give you 10 mins of face time....
  11. To the original OP - I have been reading this thread with interest over the last couple of days. What worried me most both as an educator and as a parent, was the comments your child made about the behaviour management of the teacher. Do you think the head will be able to address this part of the complaint? I am increasingly worried about the attitudes towards young people, and this is evident in many schools were vast amounts of students are becoming switched off to education. Whether or not having an unqualified teacher or not is the issue, I can't comment on. Certainly the introduction of the baccalaurete created the need for good MFL teachers as languages became an key part of that particular qualification. I really hope you can find an adequate answer, at least, to your query. Whoever or whatever the background of the staff, your child is entitled to a fair and safe environment in which to go to school in. Good luck.
  12. Second Lizzy Lomax.
  13. My two year old started at beginning of September. I can't praise it enough. Lovely staff and lovely atmosphere. Fab.
  14. I agree with all. For me it was just getting confidence. Lots of good comments from people though and 99% positive. The only bad one was from 2 ladies sitting behind me in The Blue Mountain Cafe. They said I should be "sitting by the side of the Nile". The staff were brilliant though and told them that their comments were inappropriate. Good luck and enjoy your baby!
  15. Hazel is brill. I can't praise her enough.
  16. Mother and baby sessions were a hoot. Cuppa and a cake thrown in for good measure. Took kids last week and they had special plastic booster seats for them. It's a winner for me.
  17. I think we stayed at this one - it was 3 years ago! http://www.travelrepublic.co.uk/hotels/france/seine-et-marne/montevrain/home-business-paris-val-deurope-hotel.html?oid=795813&mkid=104029154&aid=1&dev=c&gclid=CPy1q-nurLkCFQKWtAod_HwAvg
  18. We stayed just outside Disney, a stop away on the train, 3 mins or so. It was self catering and nothing to do with Disney. Like this http://www.pv-holidays.com/gb-en/disneyland-paris-accommodation_om Val d'Europe is a little suburb with cafes, a shopping centre and not at Disney prices. We were able to go back to apartment and cook out own tea, make up lunches for the park etc. Have a look. Enjoy.
  19. We drive up there a lot, and Tebay services in Cumbria is fab - play area for kids, duck pond, the wonderful lakes. In terms of routes we never go through London instead going by the north circ onto the M1 that way. Not everyone's cup of tea, but it works for us (through Rotherhithe tunnel, heading for Barking way, then onto M1 when you go past Green lanes). We tend to do M6 as we drive to central Scotland, and so we do the M6 toll. Have done the other route and it is lovely too. Enjoy the drive - the other posters are right - the scenery is beautiful! http://www.westmorland.com/tebay
  20. Overheard in West End of Glasgow - Child to Waitress when asked what they wanted for lunch. "I wish to devour the unborn" Confused look from waitress. Mother of child "Eggs. He means eggs..."
  21. What's the class on a Wednesday please DulwichBorn&Bred? Thanks.
  22. There was one in Bermondsey, Galleywall Road.
  23. When my son started nursery school, his teacher advised us to talk to him so that the child didn't get conflicting messages. Is your child at nursery? Maybe check with them - they are the experts in this. I second the jolly phonics too, by the way. Good luck!
