Went in yesterday. Staff were lovely. Overheard one telling a customer that the 100g is a guide and you could have as little or much as you wanted. "Even if its just 1". He also offered to weigh something out so that the customer could see how much was in the 100g. Thought it worth mentioning. I'll go back because of the great service.

From the school - they sell them on reception so you might want to pop down before and see if anyone is there before the term starts.

My 11 year old son plays this so I asked him about the original OP's post. He said "Its not the game that makes kids angry or addictive - we get addicted to everything. I wouldn't say it was that violent - there are guns but no blood or gore. Its no different from playing in the playground and pretending to shoot each other. Its like Minecraft with guns in a lot of way. You can mute people on the game that you don't know. You can play with friends if you like. I'm 100 percent certain a 9 year old can play it. Its a big part of the future to play online and that's how we learn to be sensible and is a benefit to us" Anyhoo - thought I'd share that as we had a big chat after reading the post. To be honest he doesn't play it as much as some and it is in the living room so I can see what is going on. He gets a bit bored of it at times so I'm glad he has seen it for himself. I wouldn't ever tell another parent what to do and I respect your decisions. Good luck with this - its a changing world and a mindfield for both the kids and the adults. Your kids are lucky to have parents who have these debates. Keep the faith!

Hi. I live in Nunhead so I guess my son's school is out of catchment. I do know parents who have sent their kids to all of the ones you mentioned, with the exception of Dog K Hill. All happy, as far as I know. x

For my money the state primary provision in London is very good. I've been happy with our choices. My gut feeling is think about private later on, if its an option. I also feel if you are going to bring children up in South East London then a mix is good - my son has friends from all backgrounds and feels more at home making his way around as he gets older. Good luck for the future - your children are lucky to have parents who want the best for them!

Hi. Have you been to look around? Seriously, you need to go and look at schools. Its too abstract to judge on paper. Base it on what's best for you and your child. Being close by is a real bonus, trust me. (And I have 2 children there. Personally happy with it all. Nothing's perfect. I've been in education for 27 years. If you have a strong family background it usually all works out ok! Bon chance). x
