The agency may have a point here. It clearly states "...a minimum sole agency period of 12 weeks..." What do the other clauses say? Ie, can you involve other agents after the 12 week period but you still need to retain them as one of the agents unless you serve the three weeks notice within the minimum period? If you serve the notice within the required period can you ditch them altogether? Be careful to serve the notice in plenty of time in advance of the 'anniversary'. Ie, if the three week notice refers to 21 days rather than three working weeks make sure you serve the notice in writing no less that 21 calendar days before the minimum period expires.

Is it easy to dis-connect an integrated washing machine yourself?
silverfox replied to Bobbaz's topic in The Lounge
Hi Bobbaz, The answer to your question is yes. There are three things to do: 1. Your old machine is plumbed in. See DulwichFox's advice above. You probably only have a cold water supply (blue knob). Turn the knob and disconnect it. 2. Your machine is plugged in to the electricity somewhere (possibly behind your cupboards). Unplug it. 3. You have a water outlet. This may be under your sink or behind your cupboards. If under your sink disconnect it. If feeding directly into a waste pipe simply pull it out. Unless the plumber who installed it was a complete nutter all three points should be readily accessible. You may need to get on your knees to traces the cables etc. -

Phone Number to report a car blocking your driveway?
silverfox replied to tomo's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Are you sure the car blocking your drive is parked? It could be a driver caught up in local traffic due to the 20mph limits, the proliferation of Pelican crossings, priority for cyclists and kamikaze jay-walking mothers. Is the car's engine still running and is there a skeleton in the driver's seat? -

I don't know any children who read The Sun. Do you? If you're worried about children seeing soft porn in The Sun then surely the parents are to blame by leaving the paper accessible. Also, you'll find fewer spelling mistakes in The Sun than the Guardian or, dare I say it, The Times

expanding London's airport capacity: bad news
silverfox replied to fl0wer's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Sounds like a good idea to me. We should be planning for five runways at Heathrow (and Gatwick) if we are to avoid being a third world Country. Also, airplane noise has never affected me in ED since Concorde stopped flying over my garden and Dulwich Park (which I loved to see). -
Child hit by car (she's fine), Lordship lane with upland
silverfox replied to lotita's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
What a load of crap. Roads are for cars (and dodgy cyclists unfortunately). Pavements are for people. If you cross the road use the Green Cross code (and beware of cyclists) and don't cross unless it's safe to do so. Lady Deliah's public spaces nonsense post is cloud cuckooland. The proliferation of Zebra crossings on Lordship Lane has not only slowed a major London Artery but endangered people's lives. -
Herne Tavern play area to be demolished
silverfox replied to cazzyr's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Simple Children don't buy drinks. Parents see child areas as a cheap form of baby-sitting. Times are tough for pubs and child areas make no economic sense. -

Why is an EU referendum a 'hard line policy'? 2. Why did you say 'Oh dear' after "...tax breaks for conventional families..."? I agree UKIP's policies may prove influential. Thankfully, with our first past the post voting system (FPTP) UKIP is unlikely to gain real power, as they would under under Proportional Representation or Alternative Vote systems.

They vote UKIP I seem to remember a time before the influx of the Poles and Lithuanians when it was very difficult to get plumbers and other tradesmen. Half the time they failed to turn up and keep the appointment. When they did they charged high fees and the quality of work wasn't necessarily of a good standard. A bit of competition was for the best methinks.

I think you'll find software, as intellectual property, is a product of human labour for Marx. See The Communist Manifesto: "...Even when I carry out scientific work, etc., and activity which I can seldom conduct in direct association with other men, I perform a social, because human, act..."

Fact is Waitrose would not have moved into Deptford unless the profile was right. what does that say about Ed?

I accept I'm wrong about Tintagel Crescent (although the roof is correct). If you look opposite 88 Lindsell Rd the facade of the houses matches the reflection in the middle window of the photo. Unfortunately the house is different. So, back to the drawing board. -

Does the reflection in the middle window show the gable end of a house at 90 degrees? It looks like a Dutch Gable at a guess. Tintagel Rd looking up Lordship Lane? -

I don't really understand all this talk about money laundering and Cyprus, and wonder how much of an excuse it is for this debacle. If the authorities can prove money laundering then there must be plenty of laws and banking regulations that allow the money to be seized on the basis it is the proceeds of crime etc. For example, if it could be proved that ?15bn of the Russian ?30bn on deposit is from gangsters why not just appropriate it legally under anti-laundering laws and then Cyprus wouldn't need a bail out. Something very fishy about what's gone on with Cyprus. Or rather, the lack of clarification from Europe about what's gone on is suspect. I suspect it is really very simple. The EU cannot afford to keep bailing out countries and the prospect of having to bail out Spain and Italy (and probably France) will bring the whole house of cards tumbling down. Hence, send out the message that we'll raid your bank accounts and to hell with the legality of doing so. -

Your intention may be honourable ChainshotCannon but I think you've gone about it the wrong way. By posting a picture of the note you've given such views more publicity which is what such people crave. -

May be it is. Why didn't you just remove the note and tear it up and put it in the bin? Why post a photo of it on the internet nearly a week later? Why are you now trying to find the original note when you could have handed it to Southwark estate or the police yourself?
