  1. I just worked out what you meant by ping meal! bit slow there
  2. I cycle up there fairly regularly and people are always wandering onto the road without looking for cyclists.
  3. I'm up for joining in the vrtual tasting. We will need to be told fairly quickly what the wine to drink will be so that we can go and get it. see you on sunday - glass in hand
  4. Years ago - but you do still hear some nee naws so who knows what logic lies behind it (if any)
  5. *bit bloody noisy in here* chandelier swinging, cheering, screaming - what is going on? *proffers glass to Tille for some Chablis* don't even think of getting a 12 step programme going on in here
  6. Taffy was a Welsman, Taffy was a thief Taffy came to my house and stole a leg of beef I went to Taffy's hose, Taffy was not in Taffy came to my house and stole a silver pin I went to Taffy's house, Taffy was in bed so I picked up a poker and bashed in his head I'm not joking - this is in a collection of rhymes published over 100 yrs ago
  7. I fully understand that argument but an answer to that is hey what's the hurry - to gobble up some food so you can sit and watch Big Brother? And at the end of the day it is possible to cook a meal from scratch in 30 minutes - quite often the time these meals take to heat up in the oven. As I said, there is a place for a ready meal but when you hear about families that have them every night perched on the sofa watching the telly it's all a bit sad. Breakdown of society etc etc blah blah blah ----coming to the lounge guys
  8. There's a fantastically un-PC old nursery rhyme about a Welshman.
  9. M&S simply food is for people who can't or won't cook. It is mostly pre-prepared, packaged microwaveable food, or prepared salads where all you have to do is open the box. No peeling, slicing, frying, boiling or generally getting in touch with the food. Now I'm not saying that's not okay once in a while but ought we not be encouraging the youth of today to cook with real ingredients and think about what goes in their mouths? This just encourages the throw away society. At least the Somerfield does sell ingredients. How's that for starting a good discussion/argument? (Poss will get lounged too)
  10. *comes in - guilty of procrastination* *lots of work to do but just can't be bothered* *lots of feathers around the place today* *reaches for the drinks trolley, perhaps a sharpener to set me up* ho hum thinks: not much going on in here yet
  11. According to the literature I have seen, they will be sharing the theatre with the community. Did you know that the National Youth Theatre began at Alleyn's?
  12. It's not that I don't like the actual game - it's just not very sociable as the players are busy thinking all the time about words and there's not much interaction. The only good bit is when there's an argument about a word.
  13. I don't like scrabble
  14. In re: Erin O'Conner - I said a few pages back now - she does live in ED
  15. Hey Steph - I'd be up for going with you sometime to a kiddy pool - Peckham maybe? (Guess who)
  16. she had to work hard on her paunch (no offence, purely for the rhyme)
  17. They are fab - anyway we'll have to agree to disagree - although I would be slightly embarrased owning one now as they are so ubiquitous. Have changed to the more stealth like mclaren
  18. Not true actually, I bought mine for ?500 and after 2.5 years sold it for ?350 - 70% of orginal cost - better than a car I would say.
  19. I'm surprised I didn't get more stick for my last post ha ha. Maybe it's still to come. In re. coffee. I like an espresso but so many places all you get is a watery, bitter small black coffee with no crema. The Palmerston did quite a good one I think but can't afford the food there too often. I also can't bear cappucinos that are all froth and too hot. Just thought I'd share that with you all. Sadly don't have the time to frequent coffee shops with my GIGANTIC pushchair and oversized handbag.
  20. *Harrumph*
  21. Choco Leibniz - bite all the choccy edges off first.
  22. Can I just say that a Bugaboo is a fantastically practical, comfortable (to use and be in) fairly compact, light, easy to manouvre(?)pushchair. May be expensive but holds its value for resale so all in all you can all sod off. Oh and it has four wheels.
  23. I just read the Tony Visconti autobiography and although I am a big fan of the main person he worked with - Bowie - came away from the book thinking Visconti was a bit of a prat and that I didn't really like him. Interesting read though.
  24. *looks at the trolley Ana is pulling* *whips out chilled flute with a dash of cassis* thinks: any excuse for a celebration
  25. were you ever a baby MD74?
