Yes, pedestrians do have right of way in that situation - so bermygirl, chill your boots, slow down and be prepared to give way.

I've read that site too but a after a quick look at Wiki I maintain the differences are negligible and that as canola is bred from rapeseed, when referring to cooking oil canola is the name given to the same stuff that we call rape. I suspect if they were different we would be able to buy 'canola oil' in the UK.

you can't just say "it's a city, get over it". The noise is particularly bad here as we are directly under the flight path into heathrow. In other parts of London the noise is not nearly as bad. Even just down in Dulwich village or along in herne hill the noise is less. It would be nice if the flight path could be varied slightly at times. This discussion has been done to death on another thread though.

Can't remember what it was called but my daughter went to nursery in the rugby clubhouse off the south circ near the stables. Was a brilliant setting and they did half days. Poss called Dulwich Pre-school, nothing to do with college or infants.

I tell you what my favourite pasta sauce at the moment is - cavolo nero boiled for a few mins and whizzed up with garlic, a few anchovies, parmesan and a dob of butter and mixed with fresh pasta. It's bloody delicious. Has to be fresh pasta really. Mr Asset has a problem with the anchovies so we have to have an amended version with capers - not nearly as good.

I'm on my 5th week of the 5/2 fasting diet. No weight loss as such but people have started saying I look slimmer (?) I was thinking of giving up but I plan to continue to the end of March and then decide. For me it is definitely easier - and supposedly better for health benefits - to fast for 24 hours and save all the calorie allowance for dinner. Trouble is I seem to make sure some of those calories are wine *snigger* - would probably be better if they weren't! I usually have a coffee in the morning (have to or headache) then nothing until dinner where I have some fish and veg. It has definitely got easier the longer I have done it.

I sat in front of a woman recently on the train who was eating slices of either ham or chicken from a packet. It smelled like I imagine the scunge between someone's toes would smell.

Nail varnish wouldn't bother me. I quite like the smell, I can appreciate some don't though and for that it is pretty antisocial. But eating a burger or something is much more vile in an enclosed space. I've had to change carriages when people are eating. I do get irritated with people putting make up on. I don't know why. Fairly intolerant of me I know. I don't let it get my blood pressure up though. Lets face it there are plenty of anti-social, inconsiderate divs out there.
