I’d also like to recommend Gary and the team (Jason, Tony, Nick) who did a fantastic job renovating our bathroom. I contacted Gary initially because we had a shower leak so decided it was a good time to refit the bathroom. We were on a bit of a shoestring budget which Gary accommodated for by making suggestions for jobs we could do ourselves and parts of the bathroom we could keep in situ to save money. We agreed a price and a timeframe and everything was perfect! Unfortunately, as is often the case with old buildings, once you start peeling back the layers, you reveal more and more problems that need sorting (walls not straight, uneven floor, unsuitable sub floor etc etc). That’s when I knew we’d found the right company and were in safe hands - Gary is a genuine, honest bloke with a really professional team – who all just got on with it and dealt with the issues one by one without any fuss. It was very reassuring to have them around as they were all very approachable and happy to answer any questions we had (even providing some advice for the rest of our house renovation!). Gary keeps you in the loop every step of the way (he loves a voice note!) – so you know where you are in the project. We stayed away from the house for the actual bathroom refit but received regular updates and videos from Gary on how things were progressing. The finished bathroom is absolutely stunning – we couldn’t be more thrilled! We highly recommend Gary and his team at First Choice Decorating – so much so the team are going to help us with other parts of the house now was well.

Another recommendation for Greg - he came out the same day to help us out of a massive jam! Really nice guy and very reasonable.

We also highly recommend Keith Burgess and his son Charlie for all brickwork and pointing issues! Keith and Charlie are friendly, reliable and honest guys who are masters of their trade. They rebuilt our chimney stack and parapet wall that were leaning when we moved in - and completely fixed a fracture in the brick work at the front of the house. The attention to detail, down to sourcing the right colour replacement bricks and matching the original mortal colour, meant that the new straight chimney stack and brick work blended in seamlessly with the rest of the house. Keith and Charlie are very reasonably priced, and keep you informed all the way through the works with regular chats and daily picture updates. We need more brickwork and pointing doing next year (classic Victorian house!) and honestly wouldn't choose anyone else over Keith and Charlie! Keith's number is 07973 635035

I also highly recommend Dave from McHow. Great plumber and very reasonably priced! Dave installed our radiators for us and we are thrilled with his work. He was very accommodating when we had to keep rearranging the appointment due to delivery issues with the radiators. Dave is also very personable and responsive. I would recommend Dave to anyone needing damp works done. Dave came round at short notice to give an assessment of the necessary works which came in at 3rd of the price of Kenwood! Dave worked around our schedule and completed the works a day earlier than expected. Dave and his team then helped us out with other works including electrics, gas and even putting a new doorway in! Dave and his team are all great fun - very reliable, helpful and efficient. I'm glad we now have them as contacts for any future works. 07932505589
