  7. Hello, We have Angel Care motion sensor. We have a large cotbed and followed the instructions I.e placed in the centre of the mattress with a piece of plywood. My little one rolls around a lot in her sleep and the monitor keeps going off. It's driving me mad as its constant false alarms. My lO sleeps in her own room so we have to get up to switch it off. Just wondered if anyone had any troubleshooting tips for this? Getting to the point I want to switch it off!!
  8. Hello I have a 6 month old. Since she was born my husband and I have only been out once for a few hours while my parents babysat on a visit home. I have no family within the vicinity of where I live. We would like to have an evening off but because my little one is so small I can't bear the thought of leaving her with a third party. Just wanted to know if anyone had there little ones babysat and how they found it?I am greeting to stage where I need to consider this as I will need to pop into work etc over the next few months and don't have anyone I can really rely on locally. Would appreciate any help or advice you can offer.
  9. Hello, I haven't a clue about resorts bu I need one which can provide baby kit e.g sterilisation stuff, cot but also has facilities for grown ups e.h spa would be nice. Also when is a good time to go? I don't want to go when it's super hot.
  10. Hello thinking about taking my 6month old to the above. Has anyone gone here with a baby? Any recommendations on resort and flights? Many thanks L
  11. I have just had my first LO and have found myself feeling very similar. I joined baby groups, did nct but like everything it takes a while to get to know people and I find I have to make a real effort. It's tiring. The nice thing is with old friends you don't have to make to make an effort. It's relaxed and easy. A lot of my friends have had kids but I don't see them as much as I would like. Everyone is time short. I am not back at work yet and have to remind myself this is a special time which I won't get back but it's hard sometimes...
  12. Wow thanks for the advice. I definitely feel a bit more confident about going long haul now. We were thinking Caribbean. Just hope LO is ok on the flight...
  13. Yes really helpful and thanks for the offer. We use Hipp to.
  14. yes all this advice is really helpful. Thanks. did you guys go long haul? any tips regarding destination? Good tip regarding pre ordering the formula at the airport.
  15. Hello, We are thinking of taking a long haul holiday with our little one. She will be around 8 months when we go. We haven't decided on a destination but wondered if anyone had any tips? Particularly on the practical aspects of bottle sterilisation. We were thinking of taking formula cartons as a bit worried about the water situation but this will then add extra weight to suitcases. Any advice re destination or bottles would be welcome L
  16. I know!! People particularly older people don't get it. I fully intend to carry on using my snooze shade. It's a great piece of kit and I don't need to justify my use of it to a bunch of biddies on the bus who have nothing better to do but harass mummies!!
  17. Thanks everyone. It's good to hear I am not the only one being subjected to this nonsense. I felt like I was being bullied. I didn't want to verbally engage as I felt a) I didn't need to explain myself and b)they were being bullies. In the end before I got off the bus I told the lady to pipe down as she didn't understand. I use the bus all the time. My top tip is to avoid travel after 3. The bus is usually rammed. I put it down to a bad experience. It's a tough gig being a mummy at times....
  18. Or so I was told while I was on the bus with a crying baby. I was at Dulwich Park and had to catch the bs as I had a doc appointment. I was in a hurry and decided as it was a 5 -10 minute journey so sort baby out when I got to the surgery. Normally a combination of the shade and the motion of the bus sends her to sleep. In this case it didn't. As my child cried I was subjected to a barrage of abuse for keeping the shade on. First a women said she felt sorry for my child as she couldn't see daylight. Then another women insisted I take my child out and sort her out. Finally another women at the back shouted she felt it was child cruetly to use the shade!! It was incredibly stressful. Just because I use public transport does not make my baby public property. In all cases the women were older and clearly not familiar with these new fangled pieces of baby kit. It was a nightmare. I think I will walk next time.....
  19. Ideally I would like one in Hop as that's closest to where we live
  20. Hello, thanks for the advice. I am struggling to get a place at the moment for when I want which means being put on waiting lists with no guarantee. Pitta Patta is the only one which has availability.
  21. Hello, Just wondered if any mums out there have babies in nurseries in Honor Oak Park? In particular Pitta Patta nursery? I was thinking about putting my 1 year old. Any other nursery recommendations are welcome. Please feel free to pm me. Thanks Roopa

  23. I am in the process of working out when do I need to go back to work and putting in a request for part time hours. I just wondered whether you negotiate your return to work based on when you get a nursery place or is it vice versa. I am on waiting lists for several nurseries but haven't confirmed dates as haven't applied for part time yet. It's a bit chicken and egg. Appreciate any help you an offer. Thanks
  24. Thanks Grace will check her out
