  1. Thanks Siduhe I think you have given a very concise synopsis of the situation the owner of the property finds themselves in. I hope that the GGT have the decency to vacate the property immediately after the owner asks them to do so.
  2. reight - CPT it is then! I'm guessing it would not be wise to show my colours!
  3. Does anybody know if anywhere local show lower league matches in their pub? I am after a somewhere that may be showing the Huddersfield v Millwall game on Friday and realise that this may not be priority for most people!
  4. I second York (no bias from me)
  5. Sidcup - 24 mins / 9.9 miles Croydon - 20 mins / 6.7 miles Croydon has it (I am easily swayed) - I trust Google......and of course I trust Narnia and Magpie. My last trip to Croydon was to IKEA and I just have bad memories of the whole experience!!!
  6. Thanks Guys I always seem to get stuck going to Croydon so I think Sidcup it is. Straight round the South Circular. Cheers for the advice
  7. Where is the nearest Golf Driving range (open to the public) to East Dulwich. I've seen one in Croydon and hoping there is one closer!
  8. Baby got back - Sir Mix-a-Lot
  9. I think this thread may have a sting in it's tail......as it moves to the lounge!
  10. The police did a cracking job last night and there were no queues at all. This proves that if the lights were phased better the problem would be minimalised
  11. Thanks All. I have picked up an armful of supplies from Boots. Hopefully the Compeed will help as two inch blisters after just 4 miles is not going to get me around the London Marathon!
  12. Yes - I have been to London Marathon Store and Runners Need for my last two pairs of trainers and have had my run analysed etc. I think I am going to go back to Runners Need tonight and see what they suggest. I will contemplate the urine approach but not sure I will be able to do this half way round my run (round about the Horniman!!!)
  13. Morning All I have always suffered from blisters when running but really need some advice on how to protect my feet as the problem appears to be getting worse. I have one long blister down the length of each inside arch. I have tried fake skin and a few other things but to no avail. Should I pad it out? Better socks? Cotton wool? Thanks
  14. Take me with you SMBJ!!!
  15. If I've missed Natalie Imbruglia, draped over my car in her skimpies I'll be most upset!!!!
  16. Japanese Gardens, Peckham Rye Common. Lovely, but no wi-fi
  17. Moos - your dad's a Yorkshireman but, I fear, you do not consider yourself a Yorkshire Lass?! What will my kids become? What have I done!
  18. Crikey - ain't London a scary place!!! Apologies for my absence but have had lots of urgent tasks to complete. 1. Putting together beds, drawers, bookcases, wardrobes and ferret hutches 2. Calming mum down - "I'm sure there won't be murders on my road every week, it's actually really nice here!" 3. Sharpening my elbows to give me a chance of getting on the bus (in Cleckheaton they have invented a queueing system which has been patented and hopefully will be released at a bus stop near you shortly). Anyway, all this means that the walk never happened but have rescheduled for two weeks forward. Also invested in two walk books (The London Loop & Walks in London and the SE). I thought the leaflet website was very useful too (free too - we love that where I'm from)!
  19. Snoozequeen1 - I am setting my expectations low but if these walks are only 30% as good as the Dales then they will still be fantastic! Yes, I meant South East London AND the South East (it's all foreign to me to be honest). Thanks for all the suggestions. Not sure what has won yet but will peruse the suggestions tonight and find a winner for the weekend. I can see Frank (the ferret) and myself are going to have a very enjoyable walk!
  20. I'm wanting to go walking somewhere in the SE Walk needs to be approx 6-10 miles, have good transport links (beginning and end) and not cost the earth to get there! Have any of you lovely people any ideas or links to suggested walks?
