  1. Hi Guys, I'm the owner of Saucy/Saucy Chip. I said very clearly we are closing due to 'ill health and relocation overseas' Both very true. I didn't say we were "seriously ill" nor have we closed because there are too many burger restaurants on the street", chicken was actually one of our biggest sellers! Quite simply we are moving out of the Dulwich area (and part time in France) as operators and I'm having a very significant bit of surgery. Massively appreciate all the fantastic, lovely well wishes given the money, love, sweat and tears that went into the site I was so passionate about. Good news is I'm developing the brand outside of Dulwich and internationally so for those of you that came and enjoyed in Dulwich, of which there are many, we'll keep in touch😊 Thank you loads Jules xx
  2. Thank you edcam. Pop in on Friday and say hi and have a drink with us. Would love to meet you and Fishbiscuits. 😊
  3. Sue one is our catering business the other is our restaurant business. We've been catering at private events and festivals with a different menu for over 6 years. Makes sense to keep them separate in Our opinion.
  4. Thanks for the support guys! Been a long hard slog and a huge investment which we have funded personally (before you judge, just imagine how unpredictable and expensive a renovation and launch like this is..) but we are finally nearly there. We look forward to seeing all of you when we open next week. 😊
  5. Hi Dulwich Fox, Sorry to hear you're not well. Best Wishes. Again just to clarify, I am busy planning the launch and was there today for various meetings. We are really excited so would just like to be able to crack on please. I have picked up on all the above comments including the 'failed' comment and clarified many times the restaurant was completely renovated including full rewiring months ago. I'm not one for gossip, so suggesting we 'cut corners' was upsetting and just not true when all I'm trying to do is restore an old building and focus on my new business launch. With respect you may not see the work that we are doing but doesn't mean nothing is happening or progress isn't being made. :) Will keep everyone posted via the Saucy social pages as and when we are opening which shouldn't be long now. Or drop me an email at [email protected] if you want to discuss anything personally. Think my time on the EDF has come to an end (!) so please do feel free to contact me directly or check in with the Facebook / Insta pages for updates. Again Many Thanks Jules
  6. Hi DulwichFox It's Nick here, Jules' husband. Just to let you know I've worked on building sites in Lancashire from the age of 13 (and I'm 50 now) so I'm incredibly offended and insulted that anybody would suggest I've 'taken shortcuts' especially from someone who has no facts or knowledge about what has happened over the last 9 months. My team and I have worked tirelessly renovating a rotten building. As for taking shortcuts it's currently cost me the best part of ?300,000 so people publicly spreading lies and untruths is unhelpful to say the least. However given your concern about the 'shortcuts' that I've apparently taken, I'd like to invite you to come into the restaurant next week to see for yourself the 'shortcuts' that you accuse me of taking. Please let me know when you would like to come and look around the building and I'll personally give you a guided tour. I would also like to invite anyone else who feels compelled to speculate about our new venture to come in and have a look too! Thanks Nick DulwichFox Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > It opened for 3 - 4 days but as I understand it, > the electrics failed. > > Should of been rewired before all the building > works were carried out. > > Bit late now. 7. Hi Wayne Thanks for the message. We haven't 'failed' because we haven't opened yet! We had an issue with the power and gas nothing to do with rewiring or general electrics. The whole building was completely rewired as part of the renovation. Those issues are now sorted. We have also spent the quiet months of Jan and Feb renovating the upstairs function room which is looking great. It's not quite finished yet but when it is we will be opening with a very tasty menu and look forward to seeing you hopefully. Cheers Jules
