  2. Massive tail-backs in Dulwich village since road was narrowed, a few days ago, to create a cycle lane at the DV/EDG/RPH junction. The traffic approaching the lights from DV can no longer form two lanes and so the right turning traffic blocks the vehicles wanting to go straight ahead. The simple expedient of relocating the pedestrian island where the traffic light is, would enable two lanes to be re-established and allow a continuous traffic going straight on. See the attached images and please forgive my photo editing skills where I have relocated the traffic light.

We do have fat balls out for 6 months of the year and Mr & Mrs Dunnock go there occasionally but house sparrows never. We don't have a cat or anything that might frighten the away. I even made a sparrow nesting box under the eaves but never got a cheep! Distraught of Dulwich
  4. I'd just love to some sparrows visit. We have a couple of dunnocks most of the time but they are not at all chirpy and social like sparrows. Have you figured out what it is you have in your garden that attracts them?

  7. I always encourage him with a thumbs up and hope others do likewise.
  8. Not seen him for a few days but I reckon the middle aged guy who cycles along EDG with his audio amp and speakers is really cool. Great beat music and all delivered free. He should get a community award! Anyone know him?

Nothing sinister. Just an attempt to keep the discussion on the main topic ie Tony Abbot and his credentials for being a strategic advisor.

Well J.A., as someone who has negotiated commercial deals at senior level for best part of 30 years, I can advise you that any complex negotiation need to be conducted by a team who have a wide range of skills ie legal experts, trade experts, tacticians and strategists etc. You need the grimblers who have the ability to master the minutiae, and, at a much higher level, the strategists and advisers who have personality and psychological skills to do the actual negotiations. Barnier is a classic strategist who know how to play the game. Abbot is similar. He has adopted successful strategies consistently in the past at a senior level such as succeeding in becoming Prime Minister. What he did when he was PM is another matter so spare us the details please.

Twitter!! That really is a most valuable source of objectively researched content. It's so good even Donald Trump uses.

Many of you lot are spouting off without doing adequate research. 1. He will be acting as an UNPAID adviser, so forget about about work permits. 2.He was born in London, graduated from Oxford and is a committed Anglophile. He is doing it out of he desire to help the UK. 3. He negotiated free trade agreements with China, Japan and South Korea so he is eminently qualified

    Peak guardian?

The author has created a carefully crafted example of selective reporting that results in fake news. But would the Gruniad ever do that? For example, take the photo of the building of the Peoples Daily in Beijing. This was taken when it was being constructed. The photo was taken from one end of the site which makes it look cylindrical when in fact it is not. It has the scaffolding and screens on top and is supported by cable stays. Here's what it looks like when finished.
  15. @ Blah Blah What amazes me about Covid19 is the extremely wide range of symptoms and the long terms effects. Loss of taste/smell, lung impairment plus sustained organ damage to liver, heart, kidneys and brain. No other virus I am aware of creates such wide-ranging and long-term effects. Someone more cynical than I might speculate that this suggests that it was engineered by cutting and splicing various bits of DNA from other sources. I am not a conspiracy theorist but I'd be interested in your take on this in relation to progressive mutation, from a source in nature, to what we now have with Covid.
  16. Hi Blah Blah, maybe best not to feed the troll. he/she is beyond the stage of being be convinced by facts and rational argument. Sadly the fake news and conspiracy theories he/she espouses will be believed by some so it best if all of us to report his content to Admin as being objectionable and detrimental to society at large and get it removed .
  17. Penguin68 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > That won't help if it's mains powered. Even if you disconnect the mains and remove the battery, most alarms will still sound because they are ultimately powered by a large capacitor. This is a safety issue to stop burglars cutting the mains power and removing the battery. Hence when there is a power cut, if the alarm sounds it means the battery is flat and so it cannot keep the sounder circuit open. In this event, the capacitor steps in and powers the sounder.
  18. Yes to both questions however be aware that many of them have worms - one of the reason that cats & dogs get worms after eating them.

  21. Our Heathy Streets is FARCE. The traffic along East Dulwich Grove is backing up like never before.. Static vehicles are pumping out pollution. The only way to get the Council to change their minds is DIRECT ACTIOM. The best locations for protest are:- 1. Lordship Lane junction with EDG 2. Dulwich Village junction with Red Post Hill. Pedestrians can block these junctions very effectively by just crossing the road continuously or by lying down in the road. Advance alerts to the media will bet them involved and provide widespread coverage. A bit of positive action will make the Councillors review their crazy ideas. To the barricades!!!
  22. More pieces of the Covid jigsaw puzzle have been falling into place. The French sold China all the technology and design for an advanced virus laboratory in Wukan. Any such lab can be used to develop germ warfare products. When it was established, the Chinese refuse to allow the French access the the laboratory. See... https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/coronavirus-china-bars-safety-experts-from-wuhan-lab-brbm9rwtm China did not advise the WHO until January that there was a new virus existed until January but subsequent evidence has emerged that it was actually out and spreading as far back as October. Covid19 has now been analysed and found to have a range of characteristics which is believed to be impossible to have developed naturally. One such characteristic is the asymptomatic transmission. Others are the wide range of detrimental effect that it has on victims. Organs affected include lungs, blood, brain and for survivors their health can be impaired long term. This indicates beyond reasonable doubt that the Chinese have been cutting and splicing various viruses in their labs and that Vovid19 escaped. This week we learned that China has developed a vaccine (surprise, surprise) which it is going to innoculate all its military. https://www.bangkokpost.com/world/1942868/chinese-coronavirus-vaccine-approved-for-military-use This week Kong Kong was hit by the big fist of Beijing. What will the do next?
  23. Blah Blah Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- >When are we going to have a government > that builds the homes we actually need, over > investment opportunities for the private sector. @BB Really admire your posts on Covid and your analytical ability on related issues but I think you have blown it here. Tell me of a government that builds homes for its population. It is possible if you want to live in a 1945 type prefab. They were really good and some still exist after 75 years. These would be really affordable, depending on the cost of acquiring the land. Would you be happy with that? Nowadays, building regs and health and welfare issues would not permit that approach. Would you abolish all these controls? For government to spend money on building homes, it would have to borrow it. But just like using a credit card, govt has to pay it back. Where do they get the money to pay it back? They get it from taxes. Do you want higher taxes or do you want your children and grand children to pay it back, with interest on top?

The targeted scapegoats then were the Jews. I wouldn't agree that migrants are the current scapegoats as the current Liberal/Left axis is too influential/vocal in the media - particularly the BBC.

Don't let them put you off Unc. These personal attacks are designed to do just that. It's a tactic that activists of a certain persuasion use.
