Planning permission - how??? Neighbour from hell
ShinyShiny replied to Mabel2001's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Are you sure the front garden is communal? I'm the leaseholder of a similar property and own the front garden, the downstairs flat does not. I would consult my neighbours before doing anything drastic, however it's ultimately my responsibility and decision on how to maintain the garden. I think you can download title plans from here for a small fee http://www.landregistry.gov.uk/ -
E.D.Station controlled parking zone
ShinyShiny replied to joobjoob's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Yikes, I'm an occasional forum reader and have just tried to digest 18 pages worth of something worth digesting! I live right on the cpz boundary within a 4 minute walk from ED station - this proposal quite obviously directly affects the parking situation on my road. At such late notice is there anything I can do? Email someone directly at the council? Call them? My neighbours need to know, but I don't think they'd appreciate me starting a door to door petition at 22.45! -
is that a banksy on Choumert Rd?
ShinyShiny replied to ShinyShiny's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
oh, how boring! There's probably an artist out there cursing the mere suggestion their work is similar to banksy -
I was whizzing past on my bike this morning so didn't get a long look - but has anyone else noticed the superman child (?) graffitied on Choumert Rd, corner of Bellenden (opposite the pizza restaurant & victoria)? Could it be....? (sorry not ED but close enough)

Just a heads up that I found someones loan agreement complete with address, phone number, email address and repayment details outside my house on east dulwich rd this evening. Thinking it had come from our paper recycling bags I picked it up to discover it had travelled from The Gardens. I've shredded it for you now.

Car Alarm going off every night c. 3am on Tell Grove

Make a complaint to the Southwark Council Environment Health Department and ask your neighbours to do the same. http://www.environmental-protection.org.uk/noise/environmental-noise/noise-pollution/ -

Card Cloning Barclays?
ShinyShiny replied to mrsorganicsausage's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I used the barclays machine on Saturday, the one for giants on the right, and went through all the steps before telling me there was no cash available. No fraud attempts on my account as of yet. Not convinced I'd class that as unusual behaviour for an ATM more irritating -
surly black cab drivers ! (not taking fares to ED)
ShinyShiny replied to spark67's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
The Cabwise text service is pretty good to find a more reasonably priced licenced cab. I had a terrible experience with Addisson Lee and would never use them again. The driver turned up over an hour late, he couldn't speak english and I doubt he even had a driving licence. He drove me down the road on the wrong side, through the red lights and down a one way street, we ended up at a dead end under under a railway arch and I thought that was it for me. Thankfully he was genuinely lost and I finally got home after 45 minutes of fannying about and got out without paying. The only good thing was he couldn't argue back! -
Wow thanks auracaught I'll be trying this one out when I have someone to read out the instructions just in case my full attention isn't on the road! I much prefer moving round windy streets than sitting still on a main rd. I have tried by train then many a time but it takes well over an hour as said friend lives 20 mins from the train station. Thanks for all the suggestions, I'll let u know how I get on

Anyone know any good routes from ED? It takes hours via clapham, wandsworth, richmond. All online route planners and sat nav systems want to take me that way with a quoted journey time of 32 minutes! It's all lies! I've tried the method of getting my friends to move house, but they won't budge...help!

It's the website. The 'first train of the day' to Cardiff was apparently at 9.30 last Monday - they actually start at 5.30. Hit refresh a few times if it looks suspect.

My rent is due for renewal in 2 months and I plan to ask the landlord for a reduction. If he says no, I'm outie - there's definitely choice on the current market for the same space at a considerable discount.

Attempted burglary on East Dulwich Road
ShinyShiny replied to Natalious13's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I live in the near vicinity and have my doubts about security so am very curious about the details of ths incident. can you provide any more info about which end of the road it was? did they try the doors/windows? front or back of the house? Any more info will provide me with some good reasons to get our landlord to spend some more money on security - thanks -
