hilili replied to niall's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Yeah - he was making supper for me last night - did he have red roses with him ? ....perhaps he picked them up after he got the cheese. -
That'll be it !

So many ambulances and emergency vehicles heading down Red Post Hill. Fairly quiet in Herne Hill so don't think it's the flooding.

Does anyone know where I can buy sofa stuffing locally ?

Hi I have an Anthony Worral Thompson Breville juicer, a few years old but perfect condition as rarely used. When I juice the pulp is far from dry. Before I invest in a new one I wonder if this is normal for juicers ?

langlounge Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > hilili Wrote: Hi Langlounge Thanks for this, Obviously we apply for Freedom Passes and do complete benefit checks. This is my experience of working with various local authorities, the patient applies to their local borough, having Cancer does not fast track the application, e.g for a patient being treated for Lung Cancer, if you can walk a certain distance - you don't qualify, if the applicant is successful it can take up to six weeks, I am working with local authorities and TFL to try to get something in place long term but this was just a thought, for short term immediate help. > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > Hi All > > I work as a Cancer Advisor, within a Cancer > > Support Organisation. Hi All I work as a Cancer Advisor, within a Cancer Support Organisation. Currently we are finding that more and more patients are having difficulties attending appointments for essential treatment due to travel costs. We are very lucky to have hospital transport but it often means patients waiting around for many hours which doesn't help with their fatigue, also some patients are happy to continue being independent for as long as possible. I was thinking that if we had a designated newsagents in our community perhaps residents would pop in with one or two pounds which would help top up our patients Oyster Cards. This will hopefully be short term as I am talking to TFL for a permanent solution to this problem. Any thoughts or opinions will be appreciated. Thanks

Hi Topbanana Thank you so much for your kindness, I think the most useful thing would be a personal radio, it would have to have simple controls as the patient is not used to blindness, I would also be happy to put money towards something, I've organised a speaking clock - hopefully that will also be useful.

Has anyone tried Lighter Life or the Cambridge Diet ? Any thoughts ?

Hi - I volunteer in Kings and was with a patient today who is very sick and has lost her sight. I wondered if anyone has a small radio or talking book ??? I don't know how they work so I'm open to suggestions. The patient is quite religous so she could listen to a religous radio station. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks

Kingsdale School makes the news again
hilili replied to bluemusic's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Two 14yr old boys from Kingsdale mugged a woman this morning outside Pizza Express. I watched them laugh and run once they got her belongings. Fortunately she shouted and ran after them and one of the boys was caught by passers by - it was after 9am so they should have been in school . I called the Police, hope they learn from it. -

Thanks for this, I've got the fruit covered. Bigger companies have to go through corporate fundraising which takes ages and I'm running out of time. All suggestions welcome.

Hi, I'm a Volunteer for Macmillan at Kings. We have an Open Day at the Hospital coming up and I was wondering if anyone had boxes or packets of sweets that they don't need that we can give to the children - I've tried some of the local supermarkets but they're not particularly forthcoming, anything will be appreciated. Thanks

Hi thanks for the feedback, Kabekay I would be so happy to receive the headscarves, they would be very much appreciated. If you can send me your details I would be very happy to collect them Thanks.
