very simple. just drive down underhill road and join the anti-clockwise south circ by turning left at the bottom! not sure why'd you'd want to go down melford road to do that! Ah... I see you really meant the CLOCKWISE side! You'll have to do an elaborate round route taking you down Barry Road to Upland Road where you turn left, drive down to Lordship lane and turn left again, then turn right at the bottom on to the South Circ.

I've been watching day and night for over 7 days now, and I have yet to see one goose appear on Goose Green. Very disappointing. :-$

Does this spending of taxpayer money actually help anyone? Just asking..

I gaveup with my 8 year old cousin taught himself and could go to a classical concert and come back and play with both hands (and he played jazz too at that age)..

Yeah, he's unbelieveably good for a 12 year old. I have some very talented musicians in my family (got to grade 7 on the piano myself but don't consider myself to have any talent!) but none were as good as this guy at their respective ages..

Sue made sense to me. In December it gets dark at about 4.30pm. Therefore, should she not go out after that? Also, I lived in North London for 20+ years - it's the same up there as down here believe it or not.

Are people from West Dulwich invited too? What about Peckham..?

I wonder if there is congestion there because of the weight of traffic OR because traffic can't move due to parked cars? I think it's because of the parked cars, meaning not that much traffic will be shifted to adjoining streets. Just a theory...

Then he should also enjoy the scene from Misery when Kathy Bates hobbles James Caan's feet: Bates: Do you know what they did to the native workers who stole diamonds? Don't worry, they didn't kill them. No, they had to make sure they could go on working,... ..but they also had to make sure they could never run away. The operation was called "hobbling". Caan: Annie... Whatever you're thinking about doing, please don't do it! Caan: Annie, for God's... Bates: Shh, darling. Trust me... Caan: God's sake!! Bates: It's for the best. Caan: Annie, please! Bates: Almost done. Just one more.... ::o

Sherwick replied to PeckhamRose's topic in The Lounge
20 mph is so slow, like an asthmatic snail. can't they make it 25? -

Just found out today that I survived another round of redundancy somehow (I survived the last one in Nov 08). Of course, not very happy about those that didn't survive... :(

However, i was in Brent (NW London) in the 70s and 80s.. To me, it seems as if the 70s and 80s have passed Peckham by.

I just saw that I used 'too' instead of 'to' in a sentence where the context demanded that I use 'to'! What next? I fear that it's but a short step to starting to use 'their', 'there' and 'they're' inappropriately, finally followed by 'loose' and 'lose'. signed: Depressed in East Dulwich (aka Sherwick) :(

I laugh in the face of fear, spank the dark underbelly of East Dulwich, and tweak the nose of the dreadful spindly killer fish.

In '81, I was living in Sweden in a remote village and had to travel into town each day to the very centre to pick up an English newspaper at a special newsagent. The day of the great win I only read about how England were certain to lose despite Botham & Dilley's heroics with the bat. The day after I read about the shock victory! Similar thing with the next test when Botham took 5 wickets for 1 run. Would have loved to have been in the UK that summer... however, got to watch all the matches in 2005! :))
