  1. Wow, that sounds very difficult. We have dealt with some crying over a few nights when trying to break a habit like dummy, etc. but any more than that and I think there is likely something else going on. Basic question, but are you feeding at night? I know many people don't like to go back to nightfeeding if baby had previously dropped all feeds (not sure if that is your situation....mine never dropped any feeds of their own accord so I never had this issue myself!) but I do think it would be very common for a 7 month old to not be able to go all night without a feed. In my opinion, any kind of sleep training will not work with a baby that is hungry or in pain/discomfort. I agree that you may want to change tack, and try to rebuild trust and get some sleep for both of you any way you can (feeding, rocking, co-sleeping...whatever works in your case).
  2. There is also Mum and Baby cinema closer to ED, at the Peckham Plex across from Peckham Rye station. Thursdays at 11:30. Here are the listings for this week: WATCH WITH BABY at PECKHAMPLEX Thursday 1st December 11.30am (Doors open at 11am) My Week with Marylin (15) Arthur Christmas (U) Tickets ?4.99 Inc Refreshments If you want to be emailed the Watch With Baby listings each week you can email peckham.managers@movieshack.co.uk and ask to be put on the mailing list.
  3. I can highly recommend Katie Fisher. She has helped me with both of my boys' tongue ties, which were posterior and very hard to diagnose (missed by everyone else). 020 8662 0184 or 07949 176776.
  4. We've used sitters.co.uk in this scenario.
  5. I was going to say lecithin too. I only had a bleb once, but my lactation consultant (Katie Fisher) recommended lecithin if the problem came back. Hope this is the end of pain for you and well done for getting through it!
  6. I was going to say hand, foot and mouth disease. Think it is viral so may have to run it's course but would visit the GP if it were me.
  7. I enjoyed it too! Was much easier to manage the littles than I expected.
  8. I have two tins of nutramigen type formula (alimentum, Canadian version) that I am happy to give away if you wanted to try it.
  9. I really like the Sativa (made of hemp but just looks like canvas) changing bag. Not crazy expensive (think mine was ?35), neutral colours and lots of pockets. Like this: http://www.sativabags.com/online_store/hemp_over_the_shoulder_baby_changer_holdall.cfm
  10. Sounds amazing! A year or two would fly by, and you could always come back if worse came to worse. Would it be a problem from a work perspective for you? If that's not an issue then personally I would jump at the chance!
  11. Why do they think we take our children to the pub if not for a little sleepy tipple? Whatever works!
  12. Yep, don't have a car so we're both free to get sauced as I guess our kids are stuffed if there was an emergency, according to that thread. Perhaps not a bottle of gin EVERY night though.
  13. If cradled, then definitely try Coorie. Saved my life! Can drop it by tomorrow.
  14. Sounds good! Are there going to be toys, etc about? Trying to decide if it would be possible to join in with toddler AND baby in tow. Perhaps not...
  15. Do you have a sense whether baby likes upright or cradle position? If cradle, I really recommend the Coorie fleece pouch or the Baby K'Tan. If upright it may be worth persevering with the wrap a while longer. The Ergo insert didn't work for us but my baby preferred cradle position. From 4-5 months the Ergo was great without insert, though my favourite is now a Didymos woven wrap. Happy to lend my Coorie pouch for anyone to try. I do still use it for hip carries but not every day.
  16. I have one called Big Brother I think. S seemed to like it. Remind me to bring it for you when I see you next!
  17. Should be good for me!
  18. Bee74 - I have a miracle blanket and other swaddle type products you can borrow. Not using them anymore as my little newborn is now 7 months somehow!
  19. Anywhere fine for me. I'm collecting big one early and bringing both.
  20. I'm planning to come. Might be just baby or might collect toddler early. Hope to see you there!
  21. This isn't self catering but we did a break with baby to the Charlton House spa in Somerset and it was great! Spa was amazing and I thought good value. Lounge/bar had fires and lots of squashy sofas that my son climbed all over, monitor worked in the restaurant, food available all day including kid's menu, and great breakfast including buffet stuff for baby. We had to share a room but it was big, including a sofa area and big TV with cbeebies! The spa was definitely the best part. Indoor outdoor hydrotherapy pools with loads of jets, outdoor hot tub, sauna, steam room, etc, etc. They offer treatments too but you can use the pools as much as you like (not baby, but my husband and I took turns enjoying the spa).
  22. I'm doing a modified variety of BLW. It revolves around sticking items of food in his hand whenever he is whingey but not supposed to be tired and also putting him in a high chair whenever I feed his brother and shunting a few bits from toddler's plate to the table in front of him. I reckon he eats approximately nil but luckily (for him) his nightime nursing habit is helping him to grow nice and plump. Shame it is sucking the life blood out of me! I also have these great spoons so that he can self feed things like yoghurt, porridge, puree (Ella's....who's kidding who). He would never let a spoon I am holding pass his lips but will feed himself all of these things quite happily as long as I load the spoon and hand it to him. I think maybe they're only available in the U.S./Canada though (maybe someone ships here?): http://www.babyhumaninc.com/index_files/Page1202.htm
  23. On the soya yoghurt point, someone gave me one of these spoons and they are great for feeding things like yoghurt on the go: http://www.booninc.com/products/Squirt
  24. We can probably do Wed but I always say that and something usually goes haywire to prevent us coming! I will have toddler and baby.
  25. I am back from nearly two months away and should be able to meet up on Thursday. No toddler this time for me. Would be great to see everyone!
