  1. They want to be paid in cash.
  2. Unfortunately, that’s not surprising. In the NHS site that I mentioned there are 28 complaints and the most recent answer from TJ is in January to a complaint posted in November last year. it might be worth asking for a meeting with the practice manager and a doctor. I did this once when they had different management (2012) and took along a friend as a witness. If everyone did that they might be tempted to pull their socks up.
  3. I really think that this thread should be started afresh as many of the previous places have closed down.
  4. Just call the provider’s number and they can contact the owner. That’s what I did.
  5. So sorry to hear about your husband’s experience. How appalling. When you say official complaint form, is this online? I suggest emailing a complaint for the attention of the practice manager and the assistant practice manager, although the practice manager is fairly useless if it’s still the same one. He’s a very slippery character. Copy in everyone (official bodies who are relevant) and who were mentioned up thread by a few people. It’s possible to leave a review about the practice online, do that as well. Go to the nhs.uk site and to the find a gp section. Type in your postcode. It should come up with the TJ Surgery even if you aren’t currently in their catchment area. It says they are currently accepting new patients and that they are accepting out of area registrations. Crazy. There are 28 reviews on the site dating back to 2022 and none of them are favourable. They’ve given up responding to the reviews. Last response was January this year and that was to a review left in November last year. The practice email address is [email protected]
  6. Do those hours include a lunch break? When I did a 40 hr week, we were entitled to a 1 hr lunch break in theory but often ate lunch at desks and worked at same time.
  7. How lovely. Hope you get lots of responses. B
  8. The vet from the BVA that was on the You & Yours programme yesterday was very much on the defensive. Definitely worth a listen.
  9. Where is this info supplied? So 40 hours without a break are considered full time?
  10. Part time GPs are because many of them are female and want to work part time to fit in childcare.
  11. You and Yours, Radio 4, is covering this topic today. Will be available to listen to on the Sounds App after transmission.
  12. This is terrible. Have you tried calling instead of using the online service? From info posted on here, the online service was invented by the owners of the practice. They’ve changed names so many times I can’t remember which company. Wonder how many other medical practices use it. They joined forces and merged with another practice to get the premises. The other practice was called The Hambledon Clinic and it wasn’t particularly close. They took on some of their staff. This happened before the new clinic was built. It meant that both sets of patients automatically became registered at Tessa Jowell. I do not know how many patients were at each practice previously. Does anyone know how many patients are registered there now? I believe they are still accepting new patients.
  13. it’s been discussed in the thread about Indian restaurants.
  14. I received similar. I called them. They said it was computer generated. I had had a normal blood pressure reading two weeks ago at a hospital. I told them this. They said they needed to know the exact reading. I think there must be ££ related to this.
  15. How revolting. I wonder if there are cameras in the area? Does this mean that they snuck in at night to wreak this havoc? Maybe the US Embassy will donate some money to help.
  16. They have three types of samosa, vegetable, chicken and lamb. They are all the same price £2.90. To bite into a meat samosa when you don’t eat meat is foul. It’s not possible to place a delivery order on their portal, you have to call. However a collection order can be placed. This seems odd.
  17. Perhaps I have unusual standards but receiving samosas with meat filling when vegetable ones had been ordered was unpleasant.
  18. Yes, extremely silly. And especially when they don’t offer a 10% discount like several Indian restaurants do, according to their websites. Two Sisters in Nunhead is one. Was highly rated by someone on the Which is the Best Curry Restaurant thread. Not tried yet, but at least they have the option of card payment.
  19. It was Millennium. Had a few problems with the order as some incorrect items were delivered but they did remedy the problem by eventually sending the correct items. Glad I hadn’t tipped. In case anyone is interested in my opinion, the tarka dal was extremely runny, and the stuffed paratha was greasy in an unpleasant way. The onion bhajis were tiny but tasted OK. The sag paneer tasted very minty which wasn’t expected. I still like Spices in Nunhead especially for value for money, but wanted to try a few other places.
  20. So sorry to hear this. I’ve had the same problem with pressing 1 as well. Have you tried emailing the surgery? And yes, they are extremely bad at contacting patients to follow up test results in a timely manner. Last time this happened to me, I was told that I had to get an appointment through the usual methods to discuss with a GP. Also, I’ve had random phone calls from a GP when I’ve not expected one.
  21. Thanks for posting. Sadly, they also require cash on delivery.
