  1. If you love the Farrow and Ball colours but don't want the chalky finish, which is hard to maintain, you can get a colour match from Dulux. We did this at the B&Q on Old Kent Rd, just took in sample of F&B painted on to card and they matched it, we painted over the F&B with it and you can't tell the difference colour wise but the Dulux is more hard wearing.
  2. Hello and welcome to ED! I've been in the GG Community Choir for about 2 years and I really enjoy it. I would say that our approach is quite different from Note-Orious, we're quite a bit smaller and I would say probably a bit less formal (that is no criticism of Note-orious!) so it really depends what you are looking for and what suits you. At GG we normally encourage people to come along and try a session before they join up so if I were you I would try both out and see which you prefer! No substitute for just pitching up (no pun intended) and trying it out. Good luck and hope to meet you one Tuesday evening.
  3. Newton, I've PM'd you
  4. I looked into this once, might be worth contacting local city farms. We didn't pursue it in the end, the donkeys were frankly diva-ish and we couldn't meet all the demands on their riders :-)
  5. There is currently a public consultation open on the proposed new Cycle Superhighways - anyone can respond and make their views known. See the TfL website for further information.
  6. I believe that the East Dulwich Academy of Music and Performing Arts (based at Goose Green primary school) is starting dance classes on a Saturday from September. You can get their contact details from the school. I have heard very good feedback about the music and drama lessons there.
  7. Excitement reaching fever pitch in GG Y4 about the production next week expecially now the lovely people at Just William have put their fab Alice in Wonderland display up in the window :-)
  8. Hi - I know a local guitar teacher who teaches other young students locally and may be able to fit your son in. His name is Dan Maitland - [email protected].
  9. One of most appreciated things I got for husband was a really nice map of London for wall with cycling routes all marked on. It was from notonthehighstreet. They do all different colours/sizes and framed or unframed. Went down really well and is always a talking point when people come over. Good luck!
  10. LOL "tin pan band" = steel pan band!
  11. Agree that CCS is great, my daughters went there for 2 years from the age of about 4-6. Now they are at Jasspa, a Saturday school based at JAPS that does classes in drama, dance and singing, they are in the junior choir which I think starts at age 6. It's fantastic.
  12. Hi I've sent you a PM
  13. you could try next for leotard etc, they don't do shoes but you can get those from duo dance in herne hill.
  14. I am so glad I caught this, having been under the care of many of the docs featured (including the Prof and Leonie Penna, who was fantastic) when we had our identical twins. They developed twin to twin transfusion and I had the laser procedure featured on the programme. Having that op and then waiting for that follow-up scan was the worst 2 weeks of my life. We were among the very lucky ones in that both our girls survived, the programme brought back lots of memories but more than anything reminded me how lucky we are to have our NHS and such a fantastic specialist ante-natal centre virtually on our doorstep!
  15. Please come along and help us celebrate this great news at our summer fair on Saturday 7th July between 12 and 4! There will be facepainting, bouncy castles, food and drinks, lots of fun games and activities, the obligatory mini Olympics plus performances on stage including the new and very talented parents and staff choir! HP
  16. I am really happy with this school too. It has a lot to recommend it and my daughters love it and are thriving there. The latest Ofsted report should be published very soon.
  17. Hi Zelda I've sent you a PM
  18. Another wholehearted recommendation for Pam Hulme - she is fantastic and my kids love her, they really look forward to her coming.

  20. If people are giving great feedback about GG it is because they are happy with it. Parents and children are very proud of the school's achievements and so they are more than happy to say so when asked! But of course there is no substitute for having a look round all the schools yourself - children are all so different and people have very different priorities when choosing a school. For example I know that Goodrich is really highly regarded but for me the size of it was a real factor, even though it clearly doesn't cause an issue for all the happy children who go there!
  21. I have a very skinny 6 year old and recently bought some skinny cords from Next - they come in 3 fittings, skinny, regular and plus fit and the skinny ones are great - much less bunching up round the waist (but still adjustable) and much narrower in the leg - also got school trousers, equally as good. The only thing is that I think they only do the variations in the "older girls" range - but that starts at age 3 so you might be ok?
  22. Hi Just to say that if you don't get a response from a more local school, we would love to have them for Goose Green - would organise someone to collect. thanks
  23. Hi I am sure that there isn't one on Monday, it being the first day back after half term. If you ring the school on Monday morning they should be able to help, they may offer you a private tour!
