  1. The return of Ted and Honaloochie would be cause for irrational joy... or maybe that should be rational joy...
  2. That would have to be the sorely missed Station Master Barry.
  3. Well - if this thread (and especially Nette's remark!) hasn't brought them back, I guess nothing will:(
  4. So very sorry for your loss. Thoughts and prayers are with you.
  5. We had pillowcases too - usually with a Blue Peter annual in them to keep us occupied until a reasonable hour!
  6. Rafe Orlando Watts has a nice ring to it. Good luck!
  7. I have a Luke! Always loved the name and was lucky enough to be able to use it!
  8. Harry?
  9. Are there any forumites as old as I am who took part in the Dilwihs/Dulwich millenium parade in 1967? I was riding on the back of a float proudly wearing my Brownie uniform and waving a homemade Union Jack if I remember correctly!! Can't remember the whole parade route but I know we went through Dulwich Park.
  10. That's so sad - He was my dentist when I was in my teens and 20's. I hated going to the dentist and he was always so patient with me. A lovely man. Condolences to his family.
  11. Great news!
  12. How awful for you.... hope she's home safe and sound soon.
  13. @helena handbasket - I used to do the same thing re the freezer bags! I went one step further tho', and taped the cut out picture to the bag! I really was quite obsessive about about all those thousands of pieces of Legos!!
  14. James Barber is one of the East Dulwich councillors.. he has a thread on this page.
  15. I failed too .... only 11 correct. Looks like Huguenot will have to buy a bigger house!
  16. Is that Roger Moore looking Oh so suave with the pipe? Why is he wearing his mum's cardi?
  17. Gosh, Ruth - how awful... hope he's OK.
  18. b) would be tempting, but sadly I think you're going to have to go with d)!
  19. I loved the book, and only liked the film. They obviously had to leave an awful lot out of the film, but I think they did it quite well - except for Anne Hathaway's peculiar accent! The book stayed with me for quite some time - which doesn't happen too often! Loved Dex and Em!
  20. Scary! Glad you are Ok too!
  21. 100 posts on any given thread, Sue.
  22. This thread reminds me of a question in an advice column I read years ago. The question was from a woman who wanted to go back to college to become a teacher, she was in her 40's, and she was bemoaning the fact that when she was finished with college she would be 48. The advice columnists answer was - 'and how old will you be if you don't go to college'. That has always stuck with me. I say - go for it!
  23. Second FAO Schwarz and Central Park Zoo. Also there's Toys R Us right there in Times Sq. with its indoor ferris wheel, ice cream parlour and mega lego displays!
  24. I am not attempting to 'beat a dignified retreat' - but I truly do not understand why you feel so strongly about this. It has been said many times in this thread - the parking spaces are not there because parents think they are special. They are there to make the whole experience of shopping with small children a little easier. Of course it's a marketing tool on Sainsburys part, but if my children were still small I would be very grateful those parking places existed.
