  1. I am very sad that Dr Scorer is retiring - I wish her all the best. She was a lovely doctor who saw me through my two pregnancies 20 and 17 years ago.
  2. Lewisham Choral Society sounds like it might be your thing. They meet on a Monday evening. I'm not a member but know a couple who are. Visit their website for details.
  3. Ayres bakery on Nunhead Lane sell honey.
  4. Gambado's copers cope Road in Sydenham is good but pricey.
  5. Back to the point - Aldi on croydon road penge had some very respectable looking wreaths for ?5.50 today
  6. St barnabas, Carlton avenue in Dulwich village - wonderful choir or st saviours brockley rise (nice mixture of worshippers) both friendly and community focused.
  7. I would say the woodcote green garden centre in wallington is exactly what you are looking for. About 40 minutes drive, cafe, clothes, food court, books, kitchenware, lovely Xmas decorations etc
  8. The number for the new dog grooming place on Westow street, Crystal Palcace is 020 8653 3500
  9. There is a dog grooming shop opening soon at holly bush terrace crystal palace. They are inviting people to apply. I will try to post the telephone number. Good luck
  10. The cable car across the Thames at 02 might interest them.
  11. I reported this to the police at 1am. I saw two guys on mopeds heading off onto Forest Hill Road one with the light on and one with the lights off and then I saw the chain and cover in the road so realised they had just pinched it! I couldn't give the police a description - sorry.
  12. The wood house pub garden on Sydenham hill is lovely
  13. Here is a link. Booking is normally in August ?85 per term ?75 for concessions. It's not religious and definitely suitable for novices, you don't need to read music and there are no auditions. http://www.horniman.ac.uk/visit/events/raise-the-roof-thursdays-1031
  14. Horniman museum Raise the roof choir meet on Thursdays 7-9pm. New term starts in September. Details on the website. Men especially welcome.
  15. Beckenham place park has lots. Be quick though or you'll miss them
  16. We made the front page of todays South London Press!
  17. Wow Sue, what choice! Mine is in an empty 'bottle green' cordial bottle with labels removed (cheapskate option).
  18. I love my Sketchers - feel like slippers
  19. My daughter goes to Stagecoach Dulwich - based at Bessemer Grange School. She has been going nearly three years and is thirteen. She loves it. They put on demonstrations at the end of the autumn and spring term and a big production each summer term. She has performed at two west end theatres and at the Red House Book Awards (where she met David Walliams). They also organise trips to West End show at least twice per year - Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda etc. Although it is expensive - ?30 per week for 3 hours of lessons, I would recommend it.
  20. You can read the ofsted report. It is now on the Fairlawn school website
  21. Old suitcase under the bed
  22. Not East Dulwich but the Waverley Arms ivydale Road has just reopened after refurb. Nice couple running it. BBQ until kitchen opens in September.
  23. I enjoyed it too, there's plenty to see and do. I'd say three hours for your visit is about right. It is in the middle of nowhere though. You can get the bus from the station but it's another 25 minutes. So a very tiring day altogether. The cafe and shop are quite pricey, we took a packed lunch.
  24. Russia dock woodland at Surrey Quays is nice. Make sure you walk to the top of Stave hill - lovely views!
  25. I hated it, I felt sick and dizzy for hours afterwards. Not something I would ever want to do again. Would NOT recommend it.
