  1. Episode 4 - Eve and Hugo have fried chicken in Station Parade - how exciting Sandra Oh was on our doorstep!
  2. Paul Partidge runs lots of quiz nights locally (he probably hosted the one at the Clockhouse which you mentioned). He Also hosts at the White Hart in New Cross (think it's this Sunday 10th at 5pm)and the the Dulwich Wood House. Contact him directly - website is Paul Partridge Experience.
  3. I just had Sunday lunch at The Clink Brixton Prison and would highly recommend it. Lovely food, good service and very reasonable - ?30 for 3 courses. And you will be supporting a fantastic charity trying to reduce reoffending. Booking and security checks are necessary
  4. And everyone who lives in the roads surrounding the parks will be affected by those visiting them and wanting to avoid paying for parking and parking outside our houses instead.
  5. They always have them at Dulwich library (on the window ledge by the entrance door) if you don't get them delivered to your door.

  9. A small brown/white jack Russell dog just ran up Shelbury road, collar, no lead. No owner in sight. Wouldn't come to me. Did he just run out of the park. I'm worried about the main road nearby.

  12. Jujitsu at the ackroyd Community centre, SE23 Monday and Fridays at 7pm is very good - Sensei Colin Elgie.
  13. I was with my aunt in an electric wheelchair and there were no dropped kerbs at all so that we could sit together on the benches. I must say the work looked really shoddy too, the pavement might be smoother but the kerbstones are bedded in terribly and look awful.
  14. I've used it a couple days of times for issues in Lewisham (dead cat and abandoned vehicle) both resolved within 2 days.
  15. A Christmas Carol at the Old Vic starring Rhys Ifans - wonderful, funny, amazing set. Bellringing, free mince pies and satsumas😀
  16. He could try the Horniman Museum Youth Panel for 14-18 year olds.

  18. Just returned, my eight year old nephew loved it. (As did I). Great family entertainment, bendy man was amazing, Lucius Troupe mesmerising/terrifying.

The next Honor Oak WI meeting will be on Monday 4th September at our new venue of The Honor Oak Pub (1 Saint German's Rd, SE23 1RH) at 1930 We will be in the conservatory area downstairs, and look forward to hearing from one of our own members, Christine, who will be talking to us about Garden Design. Looking forward to seeing familiar faces and welcoming anyone new or returning who wants to pop along!
  20. Nunhead and Forest Hill both have WI groups - neither are far away.
  21. The Honor oak group sometimes have guest speakers on a variety of subjects: fan museum, aromatherapy, history of playing cards, genealogy, local history. We sometimes have craft demonstrations and have a go: dry felting, block printing etc. We sometimes try new activities - Morris dancing, Nordic walking, crown green bowls, creative writing. We have also had cheese/wine and beer tasting. We have a monthly book group, hold stalls at local fairs etc. A very varied and interesting programme!

    St Christopher's hospice hold a fabric and threads group on Wednesday evenings 7-9pm
  24. Honor oak wi welcome new recruits. We meet on first Monday of each month at St. Saviours church on Brockley Rise. 8-10pm. NB - new meeting time is 7.30pm and new venue is The Honor Oak Pub - 1 St Germains Road
  25. Have you tried a thumbguard? Worked for my nine year old in less than 2 weeks.
