  3. Thanks - I did go a bit OTT but as you acknowledge there are a few cocks on here. You seem to be one of the better people that use the 185 - and there are a few. So thanks. sophiesofa Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Blimey this thread is compeltely out of control. > I still think every company has really good, ok, > and really crap employees, including bus > companies. 4. Not at all everytime I am on the 185 I will chuckle to myself that one of the happy people on board is one of you on your quest to find Nasty Nigel - how sad. Indeed only this morning I thought that. Horsebox Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Don't hold your breath, Mark. If beaver14 (what is > that? 5. You had best ask Nigel that question next time you see him if indeed you have the front rather than hiding behind a keyboard. As for reputations I and others know that we do and good job - its like the Revenue Team ask someone who has been done for fare evasion they are not going to paint a good picture are they. However, any passenger who does not like seeing people evading fares on a regular basis will be only too happy to see the Revenue team in action. Some people on here have already supported us drivers so its generally all those that have been in your eyes made to feel small by being called back to have your ticket inspected - which by the way is the property of TfL not yours - so drivers/ but more likely Revenue have every right to withdraw it. 6. Brain of Britain strikes again - How would anyone get to Lewisham or Victoria on the 40 and the 40's along with the 176 and 185's are jammed packed in the morning - clearly you get out that much. Mick Mac Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I prefer the Number 40 bus. It stops near my > house. Who needs the 185, lets all stop getting on > to it. 7. Indeed if people felt unfairly treated why not say so face to face. I think whether people have a valid ticket or not as I have said countless times all drivers have a right to inspect the ticket. So as I have obseved/experienced as you walk past with your thumb over the date, walk on past even though the machine has bleeped to say you have no money - and you tell us you put all this money on the card or the other charming one you do is press the card up against the assualt screen trying to make some kind of point - you just don't like the driver calling you back infront of the whole bus. 9. Looks like the penny has finally dropped - of course this is my own view. What do mean retire to Kent, live a bit further than that. Happy days and life is great thanks. ???? 10. Yes passengers - when you have a sign saying Oyster reader not working and you lift up the sign to touch in - that is entertainment. LibraCarr Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Hi, > Does the 185 have onboard entertainment or > Catering? > Regards, > Libra Carr.

  12. Maybe he is too busy working - I dare say Nigel - your silly name for him has already read the posts anyway. What do I think - I have had a lovely holiday away from East Dulwich and busy enjoying my life best you get on with yours. 13. Excuse me I don't have contempt for passengers. One thing that I am pleased about (and I know that many feel the same) is that I moved further out of London - when you look at the quality of passengers who use buses outside London compared to London they are far nicer - as demonstrated by many replies on here - when I pass East Dulwich on that last trip I always think that god I don't live here and before anyone says it why do we put up with this rubbish - money - you pay our wages to move further out of this hole that you like to call home. Of course in London you moan like hell about fares - outside London people pay far more but of course treat drivers with respect - as indeed London used to be. ???? Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > mmmm - I think that Beaver's post says it all > really - the bunker mentality of many drivers, and > a general contempt for passengers who pay their > wages. It's like the 70s on the buses.
  14. I am also a driver on the 185 and have done this many a time not that you always get thanked for doing so. I also have a brain as indeed most other drivers do on the route. You would be surprised the backgrounds people come from, ex police officer for example. Its a shame that more good things like this that occur day in day out are not highlighted. As far as I am concerned "nasty Nigel" is doing his job - myself and others showed him all the posts on here and he recalled the incidents concerned, I was not surprised to learn that as ever the public over egg the truth, if you say you waited an hour for the 185 it will be 10 minutes. I am surprised that after having my power off for three days you are still all talking about this. Have you got nothing else better to do. 15. 16. I think you will find that most of the posts on here don't actually reflect the truth generally of what happened. Gimme Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > "One thread, even two (I'm sure I've seen > reference in other places) is more than enough > must we really continue this line of moaning?" > > If people don't like something then they've got > every right to complain. > Anyway KK, most of the posts on this thread are > from you so you can't complain that it is being > prolonged. > > I'm sure that generally most bus drivers are okay > but if this guy is half as bad as everyone says > then he's got the boot coming. 17. I think the post said alittle more than that. Mark Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > > Isn't that entrapmeant. 18. At the end of the day this guy is just doing his job.
  19. Isn't that entrapmeant. Maybe this post should find its way to the Police. 20. I am with Kel on this one as I said before with all the angry Nigel business checking tickets is part of the job providing its gone about in a decent polite way. If its the gentleman you dub "angry Nigel" alot of what I read on here about him is clearly made up somewhat.
  21. Write to your MP - Those people lining there own pockets don't make me laugh. They are not interested when do you ever see them using the bus.
  22. To clarify if a bus is turned short of its destination usually as a result of late running - and it order to regulate the service for example if late and a 63 ran to Honor Oak it would be due to be heading back to Kings Cross so sending it to Honor Oak would make it later - cutailing at Peckham closes a gap in service so it it designed to help you the passengers. I realise that it can be frustrating to passengers but as has been commented on here a driver should issue a transfer ticket which is handed to the driver of a route going in the same direction (doesn't have to be the same route number) and pre-pay ticket holders do not touch in on the next bus. I would point out that if you board a bus and you have not read the destination as showing Peckham the responsibility is on you to pay again. If the bus gets curtailed mid-route its clearly not your fault as a passenger and you will not have to pay again. As a driver its not the best of systems I must admit but I hope this clarifies the position. By the way this is on all TfL routes so as someone mentioned it didn't happen on the P12 then the driver was not following the correct procedure.
  23. More like stupid car drivers who don't notice you pulling up at bus stops with the indicator going and crash into you.
  24. You should try driving the buses and waiting for these people. Indeed have your tickets ready please

    185

If true no its not alright but as I wasn't there I can't really comment. I do know from reading the posts that some things clearly do not relate to him i.e. he wears an earing he used to be on the N12 I think that some people have muddled him up with someone else. What I do think was out of order is placing somebodys photogragh on a public website.
