beaver14uk replied to intexasatthe moment's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Too late now, but to go back on this all buses should stop on diversion thats the agreed procedure. -
It fairness I understand our frustations as I sent people from Canada Water to Lewisham to get to Peckham via train only to be told you sholdn't - why quick and easy route to me. zeban Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > what annoyed me so much was that on the news they > mentioned tubes and trains would be accepting bus > passes for reasonable journeys but when I got to > Peckham Rye they said they weren't- it was only > tubes which obviously I'd use if there were any > around here! For the very simple reason that if information had been published last night, this morning it would be out of date as some drivers decide to work, you can't pre-plan, all you can do is update the information.

No the 176 will not be operating. lpool Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > 176 should be ok but not sure about any others as > tend to be run by London Central.

No these routes will not operate, nor will route 12. Its routes operated by London General (Go-Ahead), Metroline and Arriva the Shires that will operate). In a nutshell the only route that should be operating is route 37. What can you put. As I have already said plan on the basis of no buses and you won't go far wrong.
-
Its really not going to be clear until Friday morning when its known home many people turn up for work. I personally would plan on the basis of no buses operating then you won't be disapointed.

I can imagine then everyone would complain about the congestion. -
Your quite right. I suspect that it was typed up quickly as the incident was happening and someone got there Groves and Road muddled. I am sure the buses went the correct way. The drivers receive instructions from TfL as to the agreed diversion whatever company runs the route. I don't know the indivdual circumstances but sometimes work can finish ahead of schedule and TfL is not told, or the Response van has not had a chance to re-open the stops, for example might have been tasked to an accident. If buses are back to line of route buses would be advised by radio. I appreciate that with stops closed this can be confusing to passengers however, with limited resources until someone can attend stops will remain closed. As I say I am only using an example of what can happen. aquarius moon Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > What a shambles! > > People waiting at the Inverton Rd temporary bus > stop for buses that were never going to arrive, > Others, me included standing on the corner of > Stuart Rd, ready to run in whatever direction the > buses appeared > from! > > Coming back from Peckham this afternoon, I was on > a 343 directly behind a 484.
