  1. What on earth makes the Guardianistas so irate about this bloke's plight. He broke the law, end of. This asperge's diagnosis smacks of recent invetion - no matter how many "eminent" experts testify on his behalf. You have no idea how annoying this kind of "Brits in Peril" furore is to those of us of a commonwealth bent.
  2. KK - you did absoluetly the right thing. In fact you're to be congratulated on your restraint. Hugs - chill the feck out. Shouting AQ on a london bus will always attract a hostile reaction - whether or not you are mentally disturbed. If he had tried it in Peckham he might have got an even more robust response.
  3. Appeal. If you need help consult the very useful Appealnow.com
  4. R and A I toook a photo recently of these disgraceful pests parked on a double yellow line with one wheel on the pavement. I shall shortly be passing this on to Southwark for their comment. And Garnwba - as has been pointed out - no one seems to be questionin the amount being charged for "illegal" parking. The beef is about the wardens making nuisances of themselves yet parking willy nilly - and getting away with it. Try to keep up
  5. Jimmy, I worry about this approach to handling anti-democratic elements. Surely exposure to a wider audience does only three things: 1. Gives wider exposure to hateful and damaging propoganda - possibly seducing those already vulnerable to "radicalisation" 2. Gives these views a kind of credence - being broadcast on an institution like the BBC lends them a specious reflected respectability 3. Inflames opinion, causes offence and heightens tensions. I think the root of my unease is the presumption of moral equivalence - ie all views are have the same moral right to be heard - the same moral weight, as it were. I don;t think that presumption is right. Not all views are equally deserving of a fair hearing. Is that totalitarian? Not sure.
  6. Santerme, I respect what you say -especially as one who has fought for his country. But is it safe for any democracy to allow free reign to a tiny group who would threaten the democratic rights of the rest of us? I believe that test could also be applied in the case of Nick Griffin. Magpie, much of what you say also makes sense - but that coersive tone leaves a slightly sour taste in the mouth.
  7. Being lounged doesn't mean the discussion has been banned. It's just been located to another area, FFS! Just means scrolling down a bit. And try the lounge - some of the best debates are on there.
  8. Re stool softners, the Reggae Reggae post is also relevant
  9. The guy owning the place replacing Chopsticks told me its going to be a south Indian vegetarian.
  10. A friend of mine says he chased across the Rye by a rhino one night last week. It was probably only a unicorn. Also, I just paid fifty pounds for eight legs of venison. Is that too dear?
  11. Yeah, this really sucks,

Slim I was not describing you as thuggish. I think I have seen you with the brown and white dog and it's always leashed and under control. I was objecting to the threatening tone of your post. And as a big black man myself I am not going to describe someone as thuggish merely because they are black. I was refering to another person and another dog - which is always off the leash and has now shown how dangerous it is by destroying someone's pet. That makes them thuggish.

As someone who lives very close to where this happened,(and sometime sees it strutting around with it's thuggish owner ) I too feel very strongly that this creature needs to be dealt with before it attacks someone. But hoping it savages the owner is a pretty vile sentiment.
