Thanks again to Colin who helped me out at short notice with a pesky integrated fridge that I couldn't get back in under the worktop. Colin has been my go to handyman for many years and has completed a variety of jobs for me, including painting and decorating. I highly recommend him if you're looking for a local friendly and efficient handyman.

Last time I received post was 2 weeks ago and one of the letters received had been posted a fortnight before! I know a letter was posted to me on 21st August, albeit 2nd class, but still not received it. Royal Mail are the worst.

I can also vouch for A1 Chimney Sweeps. Very efficient and at a good price too! -

WOW I received some post today, even including some Christmas cards. My first post in at least 2 weeks. -
I am also happy to recommend Colin who has been doing jobs, including painting and decorating, around my flat for many years. Always reliable, friendly and work done to a very good standard. 07754 691541.

Yes my blue bin not collected on Upland Rd. -
I have known Colin for years and he has carried out many jobs for me, including painting, to a professional standard. Colin is friendly, reliable and trustworthy and is always the first person I contact when I need work completing.

Police investigation apparently after an incident at 5am. No other details as yet.

I've only managed to get any post by popping down to the Peckham Delivery office a couple of times and asking if they'd check for me. They are apparently understaffed with a lot of people off with Covid. The focus seems to be on parcel and Covid test kit deliveries.

Unbelievable! He is not even being egged on by a group. Looks more mature than what I expected!

Petition: re-open Rye Lane to buses

I remember many years ago when Rye Lane was closed due to works by a utility company (seems to happen frequently, but that's another story!), there was a temporary bus stop placed on Copeland Rd. This was ideal to get to the station. However, I understand that as there is now a zebra crossing located near that junction placing a bus stop there is no longer possible. Yes, I now think it is time to reopen Rye Lane to buses, although they need to continue to limit the times delivery vans are allowed to use the street. -
A man turned up at my property this morning and claimed I had called him to do some works to the roof. This was not the case, so I politely told him it must be a mistake and asked him to leave. However, he then proceeded to put his ladders up against my property in order to inspect my roof! Only when I threatened to call the police did he finally drive off in his hire van! The other worrying thing was that he was drinking lager and appeared half cut, so would surely be over the driving limit. I have notified the local police. Be warned as could be a scam.

As I've only had weekly deliveries this year I popped into the Peckham delivery office today to ask if they had any mail for me. The Royal Mail employee freely admitted there are major issues with deliveries in the SE22 area due to the shortage of staff and agreed it was a daft decision to the close the Sylvester Road delivery office. Hey ho...

Yes I thought the service was returning to normal, but this week I've only received two letters and both of which were dated 2-3 weeks ago!

I'm sorry in employment law this would be classed as gross misconduct, so it would indeed be a dismissible offence. It is not just calling someone a name it is discrimination and this can't be tolerated in any organisation, let alone in society. It is not a slap on the wrist issue. I am sure that any apology to the victims coming from this gentleman would be anything but sincere! -
