  1. Happens all the time Sean, but what I'm saying is its much closer to your own door, I put a thread up about peoples civil liberties "drones at Stonehenge" on this forum, technology taking away freedom and apart from honaloo posting a joke there was nothing, but no I wasnt surprised, the fact it has been published, makes me suspicious or do they really believe that we believe they didnt know, what kind of public outcry did you expect.
  2. Over one million sites on phone hacking tools, and your surprised Sean?? I think the politicians, should have there own little personal drone (remote control little helicopter filming) following them, seriously though, when techniques that are so obviously available to the public, cant believe politicians, people in the public eye aren't aware of phone tapping.
  3. With first child especially, I would say do not push while giving birth until it impossible not to, that way you are both doing it, I believe pushing before its a must is often the reason stiches is needed. If you are not sure whether to push, then dont, the feeling should be overwhelming. My daughter has 4wks to go, my first grandchild, and although I dont normally give tips, (every birth diffrent) this is one I would absolutely recommend.
  4. Silly me I thought it was some complicated grammer mark.

  6. Hi heidihi, My niece has just went through similar probs about babys weight, she gave birth to baby boy 2wks ago 6lbs 2oz. She was told the baby was definitely smaller than 1st baby 5lbs 10oz and put so much fear into her. I think this is a problem that happens with hospitals, instead of letting people feel a natural worry that sometimes comes with not taking life for granted, they try to install there fear into you. When hospitals gave more control to management I think the problem worsened, at each of my births the management (Kings) of midwives made an appointment with me, to try and persuade me to go into hospital to give birth, because of my health problems, I refused, and realised it was more about if anything went wrong I would sue, my husband and me then offered to put in writing we will take full resposibility for anything going wrong. Enjoy the rest of your pregnancy and the birth.
  7. http://www.stripes.com/article.asp?section=104&article=56261 Heres how one man feels about it.
  8. Mugwort (tea, steep for 20mins) is very good, as you probably know, kidney stones is common with gout.Blue voilet, burdock, gentian root birch, buckthorn, pennyroyal and balm of gilead are some more,Sometimes its best just to try and see yourself which one helps.
  9. http://money.cnn.com/2009/05/28/news/companies/gunther_ch2m.fortune/index.htm?postversion=2009052814 I used to think a long time ago (before children) that my worries, especially the water situation (link above), which I believe will cause the biggest fighting on the planet, probably would not happen in my time. Once the kids came along I have tried to teach them to see things for themselves, to not trust the media, and not make money there god. I find it very hard to understand why some posters believe we have a democracy, they are defending. And simmering away is our basic right for water being controlled worldwide by a few big companys. Do you all really believe your planet is in safe hands especially for your children.
  10. Isnt that a bit of a contradiction Plimsoul, in one line your saying "2 things: back at you what does it say when millions chose to believe the government instead? does that mean that they are trust worthy?" then "it's human nature which tends to dictate 'i'm alright jack so i'm not doing s**t to change that." so if thats your reckoning couldn't the people who didnt protest been thinking, well we're alright.
  11. Keef you didnt say where the money comes from. It doesnt change the fact, someone has a zimmer who for whatever reason needed it, due to these people doing what they are doing, as amusing as that may seem to many posters.
  12. Plimsoul,"bbc the only people in the media to point out there was no weapons of mass destruction", what does that say about the media when millions of people did not believe it.
  13. Bob, lol, Aids from local council, Sherwick Nothing wrong with wanting a waitrose, but I think free shopping covers a multitude of problems and I felt annoyed and compared one issue, without thinking of the choice we have about what shops open up. Keef And where do the NHS get there money from, One example,my mums 87yr old friend who's son had been bathing her for 2years as she was unable to get in and out the bath after being told she was not entitled to equipment as she had her son there. He dutifully carried on and didnt mind but she was humiliated, it took a 7month fight to get her what she needed, I dont know you or your life but if you have lived without encountering the problems people face trying to get what they need then lets just say we've led extremely diffrent lives. I would probably "have a go at hard working nurses", you are probably refering to a thread I put up before, what you seem to be forgetting is I was sitting with a friend who is a nuse.
  14. Maurice you've obviously never had to fight to try and get aids through local council.
  15. I know little feckers
  16. Hona, I might go next year just to sing that, tee hee
  17. Suppose the same things go for the Dulwich mums over the schooling then Maurice. Thanks Daver I would never have found that, (just getting the hang of computers) It gives me faith that people are doing things regardless of the ridicule they recieve from the people who feel so solid in there own little lifes. Keef it you dont mind me saying, it looks like a kid friendly place.
  18. Glad to hear your enjoying fatherhood Keef.
  19. DaveR, And i believe the goverment are looney extremists, thank you for pointing out my grammer mistakes, I take your serious point, I must remember what is important to the regular bunch on this forum. Huegonot, Do you suppose the sustainability act has been got by people burning down town halls? I think you have a problem in grouping everyone who is fighting a belief you disagree with, as nasty little people. As for local democracy isnt that what pro is saying, Southwark council are refusing to allow that to happen, even though it is stated local people should be part of the committee.
  20. http://www.navitron.org.uk/forum/index.php?action=printpage;topic=7325.0 Happy belated Solstice all, what do people think of above. I was away but not at Stonehenge, for the reasons above. Why is our goverment using drones at a peaceful gathering. Is seems they have another toy to play with our freedom.
  21. Huegonot It annoys me when these nasty little people, often with limited reasoning skills, would use the freedom others have won them to take it away from our society. I suppose you think the Communities Sustainabilities Act was set up by our caring local, central goverment, people have fought for years with beaurocracy to make this happen, but of course most of the posters on here will believe that its only the good people of dulwich who deal with REAL problems (will it be a waitrose, budgen,). Southwark council are being there usual anti social selves, not giving the people a voice even though it states in the act the community should a big part in it. Pro, you will find on this site a group mentality, lots of them know each other, ( monthly social drink), they justify being rude, refuse to debate, then constantly accuse usually one or two people who have diffrent views, you are not welcome on this site if you talk about anything that remotely shakes there safe little world.
  22. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/crime/article6244005.ece I think you'll find the police have already abused them.
  23. http://www.nextleft.org/2009/04/did-police-break-law-at-bishopsgate.html I wonder what the outcome will be this time.
  24. # ohn Wadham, Liberty From Monday there will be hundreds, perhaps even thousands, more "terrorist suspects" in Britain. Under the new Terrorism Act, protestors and activists with no interest in overthrowing the state or harming the general public could find themselves falling under the Act's expanded definition of terrorism. These people could find themselves subject to draconian powers of investigation and incommunicado detention (up to seven days) - even though, as the experience of previous terrorism laws has proven, the vast majority will never be charged with a remotely terrorist offence. The Act's extended definition of terrorism includes the use or threat of action that involves serious damage to property (such as GM crops?); is designed to interfere with an electronic system (hackers beware); or "creates a serious risk to the health or safety of the public or a section of the public". 'Wide and vague' The definition is so wide and vague that much will depend on the police's interpretation as to who is a terrorist. In fact the police already have very substantial powers under existing criminal law (which already covers most of the offences this Act seeks to address). The Act creates a two-tier system in which people suspected of a criminal act for moral or political reasons will have fewer rights than someone who commits a similar crime for reasons of lust, greed or viciousness. We believe that the public, like us, may have difficulty in seeing GM food protestors or anti-roads protestors as 'terrorists' in the accepted meaning of the word. Ban The Home Secretary now also has the right to ban a whole range of groups. Liberty believes that only actions should be subject to criminal sanctions and imprisonment, not mere indications of support or involvement in political organisations. Freedom of expression and assembly are too important in any democratic society to be eroded in this way. Furthermore this particular law is unnecessary. Aid and abet Under the general law it is already a criminal offence to aid and abet another to commit an offence, so direct support and raising money for the purposes of crime are already outlawed. Furthermore, under this Act exiled supporters of Nelson Mandela who publicly supported the armed struggle in South Africa would have been classified as terrorists. The offence of "incitement" may be committed by mere words and there will be clashes with the right to freedom of expression. It will also be very difficult to ensure that the trials are fair if the witnesses and evidence are from another country. Those who support struggles for human rights and democracy in other countries may find themselves under investigation by the police. Those who have fled from repressive regimes to the safety of this country will become a legitimate target of the police merely because they support the overthrow of that regime, even when they themselves are opposed to violence. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx The freedom is an illusion and I think it is simple enough to understand that there is much more to people or groups who stand up to injustices than just seeing them as trouble makers, anarchists or people who have nothing positive to give.
  25. Think its bang out of order using cs gas when kids about but common with travellers kids. No doubt they used the public order act as they have in there justification of kettling.
