I?ve just cycled through Dulwich Village and I have to say that the new benches are actually going to be a danger for cyclists. There is effectively only one side of the road that cyclists going both ways will have to share just in front of the planters. Some people come flying down the hill on Calton Avenue and this will be an accident waiting to happen as those coming towards Calton Ave from Dulwich Village will move into their way. Never mind that it gives pedestrians a false sense of security as the area has not be pedestrianised and is still a road for bikes
Hi Bridie, I?m due my 3rd in October and would love to join a group. I similarly joined the Winter babies 2018 group and it was an amazing support, would love a community like that again! Will DM my number, Fi
This happened to us a few weeks ago. We never got a response and it got picked up on the next collection. Some kind neighbours allowed us to use theirs
I have no issue with it being turned into a school street, just thought it was odd that this was the first I had heard of it and given that it turns my road into the drop off point for Alleyn?s parents it would have been polite to be informed. Incidentally, the signs they have put up say no entry except access. The letter makes it clear that there will be no entry for access either
Hi, has anyone else received the notification that Hillsboro Road is to be closed to traffic during peak school hours? The letter has come from Alleyns and not the council. I?ve taken a look at the council website and can?t see any information about it. Can anyone shed any light?
Has the question been answered as to where parents who currently use Calton Avenue and Townley Road to drop off their kids will do so in the future? I?m very concerned that the roads behind Alleyn?s (Glengarry, Trossachs etc.) will become the default drop off zone. These roads are often dangerous in the mornings for pedestrians and cyclists and these proposals could make that worse.
I live inside the proposed CPZ and near to Alleyn?s. Parking is a nightmare during the day due to parents parking and leaving their cars while they commute to the city and also due to builders and tradesmen from the medical centre / school. In my mind this situation is only going to get worse once the school is at full capacity and the medical centre is up and running. I often struggle to find s space on our roads and there aren?t many other places to park near us. I appreciate that many other areas of East Dulwich don?t have these parking pressures but some areas do need to find a solution.
