MKK in Nunhead has now closed down, my understanding is that Coop Food are to take over the site (four shop fronts) and open a new Coop on the site. Whilst this may potentially be good for the community having a national retailer there, my fear is the impact this will have on the long established local businesses.
-
Please support your local shops who are the back bone of the community and offer great service and assistance to those that make regular use of them.

Which will bring out the locusts again to clear those shelves.

How about One Tree Hill and Camberwell Old and New Cemetery's that are used for recreation?

Technology is a "tool", it's not your friend and in fact can become the "enemy". And yes you do sound damn condescending about people who use cash and make use of the interweb. Nothing wrong with contactless, some people just prefer the additional security of a pin. When you've had your details bought and sold several times over without your prior knowledge or consent, then and just then you'll realise why people maybe happy to purchase online but prefer to not do so with their banking. Technology has positives but like anything it has negatives, and also probably don't forget, we were using calculators probably even before you was even born!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, did I forget to mention cash is king, that's what discounts are all about, ask any trades person.

Builder's radio (I can hear quite clearly through double glazing)
dbboy replied to Sue's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
yeah, like she said she was ill in bed, hence why she posted and asked. Why can't people read the OP's original post before jumping in, FFS. -

Have been using Krystals for about 10 years for prescriptions, they are probably the best stocked, managed and run pharmacy around here, always caring and helpful, even in difficult circumstances. Their service far exceeds the likes of Day Lewis Dulwich on Forest Hill Road who, IMO are the least helpful around here, I have no idea how that business survives.

I agree that standing apart is a good idea, however 2m gaps will create very, very long queues.

What's wrong is the fear of supply lines beginning to falter and buckle. See; i) Ocado ii) Sainsbury cancelling booked deliveries iii) On line deliveries arriving with large numbers of goods missing iv) Supermarkets being unable to supply and meet the demand of customers v) Customers behaving irrationally and stupidly queing at 7am vi) Potential of funerals/cremations being postponed for weeks vii) Fear of the transport network being shut down viii) 40 underground stations already closed indefinitely today ix) Potential threat that London will be "shut" down, no travel in or out x)Profiteering at the expense of others xi) Small independents struggling to cope with people who don't normally shop with them

All fresh food counters apparently have been closed from today to allow more stock, no in-store bread, deli, fish, meat

don't know where the money tree came from Agreed, they are throwing money around just like it was feared Labour would do, but this is because of the danger the virus can do both health and financially. Mortality rate is based on the figures provided by Govt, if more people have it, then the mortality rate will Increase. -

Oh here we go again, just blame the Government for everything, I fear what it might have been like with the left wing party's. -
Penguin68, but this has been going on for almost three weeks now, no controls by DKH, it's not acceptable that they have no restrictions in place that are working. What it means is traipsing around different supermarkets, which increases the likelihood of picking up the virus.
