  1. If there are 2 paths on the approach to Heathrow, could we NOT be the morning one for a change ?!!
  2. They sell Foie Gras in the Spirited Wines shop. In 2 different sizes. And it tastes lovely :-) They are opposite HSBC. Hope this will help.
  3. You can help by fixing and resurfacing Barry Road. Barry Road is a road with a high volume of traffic going through every day, including two bus routes and big trucks. I was appalled when Landcroft Road, for example, was completely resurfaced, when this is such a quite road with only a few residents? cars going through, when Barry Road just gets patched up every few years. The state of the road is dreadful and its condition is affecting the residential buildings by making them shake every time a heavy vehicle goes past.
  4. Hi James, Re: Barry Road resurfacing I would appreciate an update on this please. In response to Dickensman?s post of 24 December: ?Hi James. Have contacted Southwark council several times about the condition of Barry Road and resulting vibrations from heavy traffic. This getting progressively worse and shakes my house! Have not yet a useful response from the Council. Any ideas? Thanks! Wrote headphonauts. Hi James, I have the same problem with the house being rattled and shaken mostly by the 12 bus but in fact any lorry such as the binmens truck has much the same effect it rattles and shakes the back of the house. I have contact the council on the state of the road surface several times over the last two years but to no avail. What would you suggest I do now?? You said: ?Hi Dickensman, IF you think it's the road surface then relatively easy to fix. If you think it's a raised area such as the one on Barry Road where it meets Goodrich Road then you'll need to prove that the vibrations come from the road and have someone suitably qualified such as a structural engineer to formally claim for damages. If the former I can help if the latter then without that professional proof I wont (from experience) be able to successfully help you.? However now you are implying that the priority to resurface East Dulwich roads has already been set. Surely being the Councillor you must be able to use your position to influence this, as the cracks are getting bigger and the vibrations are getting worse. Sometimes they are so bad I wonder if the house is going to collapse. The resurfacing of Barry Road is a necessity and needs to be looked into as soon as possible. Just patching up the cracks, which is what has been done in the past, isn?t enough, in fact it just makes it worse. I would appreciate if you could please update me on this. Thank you

Hi James, I have also raised this issue before, as everytime buses and trucks go past my house the building vibrates quite a lot, actually causing cracks to appear on the wals and ceilings, but I had it from you that Barry Road was not on the priority list to be resurfaced and that the council had no money in the budget for this work to be done. Has this situation now changed, seen as you said that you can help? The whole road is in a really bad condition and I find that it does need to be a priority on the list to be resurfaced very soon. Thank you.
