  1. Hello, I?m due at the beginning of March. I?d love to meet up. Could you add me to your group please? Thanks, Lucy
  2. I am trying to arrange a tutor for my daughter to focus on Maths for 7+ assessments. Ideally this would be in a small group of 4. Would anyone be interested in joining to share the cost?
  3. We are at the point where we need to decide on secondary schools and wanted to seek other views about SEN provision at Kingsdale and Charter. I am meeting with the SENCO at Kingsdale but was told that the Charter SENCO doesn't meet parents except on open morning! Any views/ thoughts/ experience appreciated. Thanks!
  4. I wondered if anyone knows of Afterschool provision for years 7, 8 and 9? Most providers stop at the end of primary school and I don't really want to use a nanny or childminder. My daughter likes being with a larger group, with space to run around and structured activities. Any advice appreciated.
  5. Just as the title says really. Does anyone have any recommendations for around 40 people? Thanks!
  6. That's interesting Vesti - I will double check the situation in the other year 5 class but I believe they both have a TA and teacher with no statemented children in the other class. There is also the issue that the school explicitly told me she isn't receiving support despite this being set out clearly in her statement. I have contacted parent partnership but not IPSea, so thanks for the tip.
  7. My daughter has a full statement of SEN -supposedly for every hour she is in the classroom. I found out last week that for the whole of this academic year they haven't been giving her any support on a Friday because her 1:1 worker dropped to part time. This wasn't discussed with either myself or my partner. It seems they have just been giving her support via the class TA which is what any usual child would receive and is not what is laid out in her statement. Unsurprisingly, her progress this year has slowed, with no progress in Maths at all. I only found out that the support wasn't being provided when a new teacher started this term and happened to mention it in the school playground! The school are now acting very defensively and saying she doesn't need the support - which wasn't what they said in her last annual review. Surely, they can't make this decision without discussing it with anyone, when her statement specifies the hours she should receive? Does anyone have advice or guidance about who I can approach for advice in this instance, as when I notified the SEN team at Southwark they said the head teacher needs to resolve this. It seems he has no intention of doing that though. Many thanks.
  8. Absolutely bizarre team selection and tactics from BFS vs Southampton. Far too sophisticated for my simple brain. Good fighting performance by the team with 10 players - formation, tactics, team, well I'm scratching my head

My sister used to go about Paddon's legs not his beard
  10. Thanks for all the responses/pms. This position is now filled. Cheers for the help!
  11. As usual I am posting on here for help with childcare! I have a fairly unusual request and wondered if anyone had ideas or even better was interested in doing it. Basically, on Tuesdays from 7am until 8am I need someone to stay with the kids, taking 1&2 to Heber breakfast club then 3 onto a local nursery. Due to this unusual childcare need - we are willing to pay above the normal ?10 hourly rate. This is term time only (and actually may not even be every week - I would be able to let the person know a week in advance if the service was required.) Alternatively, if someone was available from 7 -9am they could drop them off straight to school. Any ideas anyone? Thankyou.
  12. I start a new job tomorrow and daughter number 3 looks like she is coming down with something...not sure I will be able to take her to nursery. I probably sound like the worst mother in the world, but as it is my first day of a new job, I don't feel I can take it off. What do people do for emergency childcare? Is their anyone out their with a CRB check and appropraite experience/references who is available tomorrow from 8 - 6? This could possibly turn into longer term work for the right person as I am quickly realising that nursery may not work out as intended. Thanks.
  13. We went when it first opened and thought it was great. The rest of the park is huge and easily takes a day to see it all.I'd recommend it.
  14. Espelli, this is very good advice and I will absolutely look into this option. Thankyou.
  15. Just wondered what people thought of Lollibop? Personally, I felt it was badly organised. Everything had exceptionally long queues which meant we didn't actually use much of the advertised stuff like face painting, etc. We queued for ages to see Charlie and Lola only to arrive at the front and be informed the 600 capacity was full - they must have known how many tickets were being sold, so why they hired a tent with capacity for only 600 is beyond me. Considering its the "big bash for LITTLE PEOPLE" I think they should have devised a better system for the waits, such as issuing tickets and telling you a time to return or (even better hiring more of everything). No toddler wants to queue for 30-40 mins per ride/etc. I won't be returning next year.
