  2. I'm not at home- can anyone keep me up to speed with Doris Day? Tia
  3. Yikes- no sign on website that this is still the case- has anyone been through recently?
  4. Bummi at East Dulwich practice is lovely. http://www.eastdulwichdentalcare.co.uk/dentists/bunmi
  5. Kings in Catford is wonderful! Very mixed, very friendly and lively. I'm not a member but have visited with friends and have heard nothing but good about them. http://www.kingschurchlondon.org
  6. Another happy customer. They were speedy, competent and reasonably priced. I called them first thing on Monday about a leak from our attic and it was fixed by lunchtime, including sourcing and fitting the faulty part. I have no hesitation in recommending them- Aria's number is 07739 734895.
  7. You promoted me to check my inbox too! I would have preferred a rejection of the referendum- it looked that's where she was going, but it's a satisfying response.
  8. Sign the petition and write to Helen. It's still not too late.Article 50 has to be implemented by the government and there no stomach for it. helen.hayes.mp@parliament.uk https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/131215

  10. Details here: http://www.standard.co.uk/news/london/dying-mans-desperate-plea-for-donor-brother-to-be-allowed-into-uk-to-save-his-life-a3261811.html Please share and contact Helen Hayes to show your support.
  11. Backed up from Peckham Rye. It took 40 mins to get up Barry Lane to Dulwich Park entrance on Court Lane.
  12. Can you tell us a bit more about the opportunity?
  13. What nonsense yard. The extraordinary thing about Dulwich, with its 5 secondary schools, is that it's very hard to tell which school a child goes to except from the uniform. Any student from any of the schools could be walking quietly/ 'more animatedly'/ cycling/ on the phone/ eating/ carrying an instrument/ carrying sports equipment. Students locally are much better behaved than at my leafy secondary 30 years ago.
  14. Anyone interested in supporting refugees once they arrive and lobbying the council to accept them can sign up here: https://secure.avaaz.org/en/uk_refugees_volunteers_faq/
  15. That list covers most, but the one in Morrison's has disappeared. There's one in the reception at Pecan- opposite the entrance from Morrison's to the high street. There's also one in the carpark opposite West Dulwich station.
  16. To reiterate you can just turn up- no card or ID needed- just give your name and address!
  17. Yes Ratty, you might have the tiniest of relevant points to make had these been commissioned and paid for from the Southwark fund for widows and orphans, but they were paid for by insurance. Isn't it great that these are in a free park, free for all to access?
  18. http://www.youngminds.org.uk/for_parents/save_the_parents_helpline This links to a page with the film on. Can anyone else find the FB links?
  19. I checked where they're collecting and when: On Thursday 27th November-Saturday 29th November (between 9am-5pm)- We will be hosting our national supermarket collections at three Southwark based Tesco stores; Old Kent Road, Elephant and Castle and Surrey Quays. Volunteers are needed for 2-3 hour slots. The last weekend before Christmas, Saturday 20th December- Sunday 21st December ? we will be conducting a bag packing event to fundraise for our Christmas Hamper appeal. The Southwark based Tesco stores have invited us to offer shoppers assistance with packing their shopping in exchange for donations towards the Foodbank. This will take place between 12am-4pm and volunteers will be needed to for a maximum of 2 hours. Please contact Lucianna Boye-Thompson if you can help on 020 7732 0007 or via lucianna.boye.thompson@pecan.org.uk
  20. More about the Foodbank at Pecan is here: http://www.pecan.org.uk/our-projects/foodbank And more about the Christmas hampers here: http://www.pecan.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/Christmas-Hamper-List.pdf Apparently they have enough beans, pasta and soup for the moment.
  21. Sorry. Picture didn't load- fire engine with cherry picker.
  22. Picture of fire engine making the window good.
  23. They're now diverting traffic- traffic backing up as far as I can see. Avoid the area!
