Having seen both players in their pomp, I can safely say Henry wwas differnt class and way better than Cantona (some would argue Beckham had a greater impact on the United side than the moody Frenchman) on a number of levels, regardless of my affiliation to the Arsenal. As for Shearer, he was an out and out goal scorer who could hold the ball and could score great goals. As for who is the greatest player I've seen in the prem, it has to be Bergkamp closley followed by Henry. Giggs is a good player but not on the same level as these guys at the height of their powers. I'm sure others views will differ, but hey, that's my view.

It would be interesting to see the reaction to the above if I had said this!!! By the way I agree with you.

  11. If life is all about change, there are also some constants, like people being very touchy about others knocking the team they love. It's good to see some things haven't changed in my absence!! I've always said it's ok for me to knock my team, but supporters of other clubs should never even think about it. Perhaps I should start to practice what I preach. 2 hopes, ...........slim & Bob!!!

Extremely well put Keef.

Yes the title of the thread is a bit of a give away isn't it?, anyway I have simply stated my view about this situation which is what I understand this forum is about.

  16. Yes it is sad, as a father of 2 boys myself I can understand the pain. BUT, there are people in the world who deserve our help and support more. The people of Gaza come to mind and the people who are left homeless and starving as a result of senseless civil wars and internal political turmoil. Goody seems to make the pages of the tabloids regularly while the people in Gaza, and other war torn areas of the world seem to have been relegated to yesterdays news. Now THAT is sad.

Hi Lizzy, good to hear from you. A lot's been happening in my life recently but the biggest event was my dear old dad passing away which kicked the guts out of me. Come on you reds!!

  21. Thank god I missed this game, as I was involved in my usual Wednesday 5 a side kick about. Credit to Moyes with limited resources and funds he keeps getting results. For me it is managers like him that deserve praise rather than the mamangers who have all the money in the world and all the resources that comes with it and still manage to be average. He has got the team digging in and playing as cohesive unit, unlike my own team and others I could mention!!

We need 2 central defenders a defensive midfielder and a striker, as Adebayor should be arrested for impersonating a professional footballer!!

I have to say Bentley is his own worst enemy, he started to believe his own hype when he was with us and in the end the boss said enough is enough, there's the door.
