  1. Thanks for all the tips... I think having the little one in the main buggy (on top) is better at the mo as she will not be getting out and then bigger child can hop in /out of the lower deck as needed. I will watch out for the tipping as I was not sure if that would happen and did not want to look like a fool!! But at least I know what the right configuration is now! I think I have found an earlier thread too on a similar point and probably need to invest in some strap extenders ifI am going to get real use out of this ! Thanks to you all. Carol
  2. I have a phil and teds vibe double buggy .... As I understand the instructions i should be putting my older /heavier child in the main part of the buggy and the smaller lighter child in the clip on bottom bit. But this does not seem to be what other mums do ( often they have the smaller child at the front/higher seat . A : does it matter? B : if I take out the bigger child from the front and leave the little one in the low seat is there any chance of the buggy tipping up... I was never sure why it mattered as to who went where. My big child is 3 and the smaller one is 1. I doubt the older one would fit on the bottom seat as the leg room is not great but it just seems so unfair for the little one to be stuck down low all the time. Any tips. / comments ? Got to be an issue others have faced.
  3. Fair call - if it stops collisions then I guess it stays...but I think that is because at the moment no car or person ever gets beyond 1 meter a minute travel time as we all inch forward in our terribly British " you go". "no after you" .. heaven forbid that we jump the queue way.
  4. I am not sure if this has been mentioned in this thread about traffic lights etc but I find - as a pedestrian and driver - that the whole goose green roundabout is a nightmare... As it is - on school mornings there are children crossing ALL THE TIME and each zebra is in two parts. No sooner has one person got on to one bit then someone is on the other bit and the poor children must live in fear of the cars that do not stop for them but you can understand because half the time you cannot see the people for all the stationary cars. I have never seen SO many zebra crossing positioned SO close to a roundabout.. I have been there on foot waiting for cars to stop and have been there as a driver being Beeped to high heaven whilst I followed the rule and allowed people to cross.. in the end you just have to inch forward but it's a nightmare. I can only imagine it was put there to put people off any form of travel. Surely anything would be better and safer... Perhaps the crossing that is at the base of goose green could easily be moved up-road where it might be of use to those using the leisure centre - ie allowing them to cross the road nearer the centre and park rather than opposite the pub. The crossing near the Scope shop could stay and perhaps the crossing on LL moved up a bit. Just spacing the crossing out will allow cars/people to SEE each other and so allow everyone to get a fair go on the road..
  5. I had one in a flat some 5 years ago - bought from argos not the cheapest but not a fortune and it was SUPER. Put your waahing in and the water is dried out into a plastic bottle that you empty...it was amazing how much water was in the clothes from one wash. I found mine worked well when I did it on HOT...but that was fine for those damp towels, sheets etc and heavy jeans. I would not hesitate to get another. Unlike cheaper dryers where you need to be able to run the venting hose outside to get rid of the steam, these dryers deal with all the steam and water internally so all you do is plug them in and empty the water out regularly..
  6. the super market ones stay open late... asda old kent road perhaps...or sainsbury dog /hill. last time i checked asda would supply up to 9pm..
