  1. Visibility is the main problem, surely the council could extend the double yellow lines on Barry Road without too much expense.
  2. You're right to avoid Locale. I took my family for my mother's 81st birthday last Saturday and the food was very average. My mother's lasagna was stone cold and had to be sent back to the kitchen. The service is either indifferent or pushy. With a 12 1/2% service charge automatically added to the bill, I guess there's not much of an incentive to provide good service.
  3. It was definately nicked, we're set back from the road so they had go through the gate into the front garden and down the side of the house to get it. It's just one more thing in the series of thefts and burglaries in my street in the last few weeks.
  4. Someone stole our patio door on Saturday. It was an old knackered alumunium sliding door that weighed a Ton. My wife wanted to paint it, I almost broke my back getting it off the hinges. They must have seriously wanted to steal it, it must have taken at least 2 of them to carry the damn thing, and have a truck handy - the planning that's gone into this! God knows what the going rate for half a 1970s patio is in the criminal underworld, maybe it's a retro look they were after!? I really haven't had my finger on the pulse of the resale value of the moss and lichen covered alumunium door - without the key for the lock I might add. The worsed of it is, it's the 1st time my wife's picked up a paint brush for 15 years! Can anyone recommend some one to replace a patio door?
  5. Two weeks ago my nextdoor neighbour came home to find the front door deadlocked and the back door wide open. The side window was also smashed, the crooks had taken laptops and some personal sentimental items of no great value. The house had been broken into a some point in the afternoon. Yesterday about 12pm the police were chasing some guy through the back garden of the neighbour on the otherside, he managed to knock the backfence down as he made his escape. There were police everywhere within minutes and a helecopter overhead. But I don't think they managed to catch him.
  6. Peckham Rye Park's Cafe is great and the coffee is top notch!
